I was on the Volunteer Fire department. We had a young family move into the community one day. That night the alarm went off. Dispatch sent us to the house of the newbys. There was a tarantula climbing the wall. It was removed by a firefighter. The next day the family moved back to a city environment.

Possums are immune to most venomous snake bites, resistant to most poisons and
they don't get rabies due to their normally low body temperature.
I have heard that in the South they may catch a possum and feed them milk and bread--
for a few days to "Sweeten'm Up" before butcher'n.
Their normal diet is road k**l, insects, rodents, etc.
Like vultures they are nature's garbage collectors and they are a necessary part of the environment.

Cool, it was just funny to me that anyone could mistake a possum for a cat. I've rescued over 25, only have 5 living with us now. Sara the 2 week old kitten she has pink eye or maybe her eyes aren't opened yet. My friend Carol had a blind kitty, they get around okay using their other senses.
