Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility

Presidents including FDR, Reagan, Bush, and Trump have routinely hosted summits at their private properties

Well, so much for that. On Oct. 17, White House Chief of Staff and Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney announced that the U.S. will be hosting the G7 in 2020 at the Trump Doral Resort in Miami, Fla.—and President Donald Trump’s opponents in the White House press corps were apoplectic, with largely fallacious accusations of enriching himself or the Trump brand from his businesses.

By Oct. 19, President Trump had canceled the idea, writing on Twitter, “based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!” But it might not have been such a big deal in the first place. Besides saving taxpayer money, Presidents including FDR, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and most recently Donald Trump have all routinely hosted foreign leaders on their private properties while in office.

Presidents including FDR, Reagan, Bush, and Trump ... (show quote)

It changed the guaranteed losses the resort would suffer in the hot humid Florida summer into a break even or better proposition. Not to mention the taxpayers would be on the hook for numerous upgrades that are needed as the place has become shabby over the years. Not to mention the free advertisements he would get from all of the TV coverage. He would have made out like a bandit at the expense of other resorts.

Since you never have been there how can you call it shabby? Like in the past, I still look at you as a dim wit.

That's true outside, inside you have air conditioning. You are such a snooze machine. Even bunkers need updating and repairs over time and they are mostly all concrete.

There were several articles on the health code and inspection violations at Trump properties after he called Elijah Cummings district rat infested. Come to find out Trumps properties have numerous violations including bed bug infestations and other filthy conditions at the swamp resort he was going to shake down world leaders to stay at. By any measure this would count as shabby, don't you think?

Ah, doing your opposition research? If you rent out rooms to strangers most all beds will contain bed bugs from time to time, even the very best ones. Doesn't matter if it's a five star or a zero star establishment.

I am sure that the previous presidents did not charge their guests for their rooms or meals.

Not if they stayed in the White House and a few other places. I think this group is too big for that with all their staff and security details.
