good morning Deb, the target pay scale has been in t***sition as long as I can recall.. and target originated in Minnesota as part of the Dayton company, as owned in part by our past Governor Dayton..

They have some good paying jobs after some years in the organization.. they also are not so good for arriving at that $15 min pay..

all in all , I think they are better then average, but also willing to fudge on this pay idea..

Not able to find a good article in a quick search, how about the link to the pay scale..

have to look it over to get a decent idea of actual pay, but it does seem inclusive and should present a good idea of the real returns from working with target..

From a couple of days ago, so should be accurate..

The real issue about mimum wage is that you have to ballance it against economic growth. Rasing the wage on an restaurant worker is fine, but someone in a factory is competing against someone in China. You don't want to sink the middle class, either. I also think there are societal rights, like health care. If companies don't pay wages high enough so workers can afford health care, they should be paying taxes to suport medicade.

What Americans really need to do is be proud of our Country and buy made in USA
Like we did when I was a kid! And we used to pay more for goods made in the US because they were higher quality! If we did that the American worker wouldent worry about china
Just because our stores are full of made in china products doesn't mean we have to buy them!

If you are a decent employer and wish to compensate your employees at a living wage and there is no minimum wage your unscrupulous competition can pay substandard wages and force his employees to rely on public assistance at your and your employees expense both in terms of competition and as taxpayers. If living wage is required of all employers it will perhaps raise prices a little bit but this will be more than made up by the reduction in demand for welfare to subsidize the salaries of exploited employees. Along with buying products made in the US, I make it a point to buy union made products to insure that I am supporting companies that treat their workers fairly.

I remember when a new mustang cost 1900.00 and a new house was 20,000.00 back when we were still on the gold standard. No I'm saying min wage is for entry level jobs, to gain work sk**ls. My first job was a paper route maybe making $50 to $75 a month. My first real job working for KFC in high school was for $1.50 hour that was in "72" and $50.00 a month went to union dues which the union really did not do anything for me. So as far as unions go they have out lived there time IMO. And that goes double for the NEA and gov. unions
