My thoughts on that are they are still there to be a buffer, just not dead bang in the cross fire...in that location, I've heard varying numbers from various news outlets, anywhere from 100 soldiers to 50 hell, even as low as 30...and ya got 10 K turkish & bout the same syrians.. kurds...not a great place for that small amount of troops they'd of been slaughtered...It would have been a s**t storm for our people... Erdogan had told Trump he was gonna advance, this pull back was in response to that phone call with Trump..I do love how he operates.. don't k**l um with bullets, Break them economically... Trump's a Business man.. He KNOWS how to deal with Money..how to make it.. and NOW he's making it for our country.. as it should have been with other POTUS's...Collecting Debt...Sanctions to punish not bullets...He will bring them home.. I believe that...I'd h**e to believe that the reason they are still there is due to pressure from all the dems and rino's in our gov't.. war mongers!!.. Trump is right.. we have wasted too many lives and too many years now, for a war, skirmish battle what ever ya wanna call it, fighting with and for people that h**e us.. that one boggles the mind and not broken hearted that our guys n gals will be comin home...sadly, a draw down and withdrawl takes a bit longer than over night...also making sure that the cease fire is being complied with.. Only thing I can think of atm.. but just my opinion.. for what it's worth...
