As usual, you cite a source that lies. I don't see the word border at all in your source, except the title.
There was no v**e to protect the Syrian border.

There was, however, a v**e to condemn the abandonment of our allies. A v**e which was bi-partisan, fullspinpropaganda.

Trump ran on bringing our troops home. Are we better off than we were 10 years ago in Syria or 19 years ago in Afghanistan. The answer Hell no. Trump keeps his promises, something you guys on the Left don't have a CLUE about. Why don't you go join A****a, or are you too old to beat up some guy with a red MAGA baseball cap.

Turkey is an ally of ours, you are being dumb as usual, which ally do we support when two of them are fighting?

Why did he want 3 years to act and in the same breath he sent more troops over there!

First of all please note that both of these v**es included Republicans on the same side of the issue as the Democrats. Second, the recent, Syrian, v**e was not about protecting the border. It was about the method that the president took to make a fairly sudden change in US policy. Both Turkey and the Kurds are our allies and that should have been a signal to take a deliberate path toward disengagement that would balance both sides out without causing sudden aggravation of their longstanding differences. Also, we had a balance in Northern Syria that kept ISIS under our collective (US, Turkish and the Kurdish) thumbs, minimized Russian, Syrian and Iranian oportunism and minimized lost lives. It wasn't perfect but it was better than what we have now: ISIS on the rise, Iran, Russia and Syria now able to fill the vacuum we have created and we gave strained our both alliances with the Kurds and the Turks. If Russia, Syria or Iran attack Turkey, we also have a NATO commitment to come to their aid, this is hardly a way to keep Americans out of the middle east.

As to the US border with Mexico, the Democrats oppose building a wall not because they don't want to protect our borders. They are opposed to the wall because it is costly, comes from emergency (and possibly illegal) drains on funding needed elsewhere and doesn't stop people very many people. I*****l i*********n is not something that is primarily done at the border but is the result of poor management of our visa policy. Also, we had programs in place to stabilize the Central American countries that now are the major source of immigres and those programs were beginning to reduce the pressure that people felt to leave and come to the US. Trump stopped those programs. Finally, until we change how we employ people in the US, we will never solve this issue. People come here to get work, often under the table and paid by US employers. The money is not enough to support a family here but can support families back home where the money goes much farther.

Look to the employers who encourage illegal work conditions and get at the root of this aspect of the problem. When a person is knowingly but illegally employed, the employer is also breaking the law.
