Have you read the two page document in which the Republican led HJC specified the rights and privileges of president Clinton during his impeachment proceedings. He was afforded every courtesy, every right under due process, every privilege, and every opportunity to present his defense that is given to any American citizen accused of a crime. That included his right to confront his accusers and to investigate their allegations, and to know the specific charges against him, his right to call his own witnesses in both HJC inquiries and during senate trial, his right to investigate the background and depositions of hostile witnesses and for his defense attorney to cross examine them both during House inquiry and during senate trial, his right to discovery materials (which is all documentation CLASSIFIED or not, witness lists, and materials generated by the authorities filing the charge and prosecuting them, i.e., the House inquiry and the senate trial.)

To be succinct, due process in Bill Clinton's impeachment began the instant the charges were filed against him. His right to defense began then, not when the Articles were submitted to the senate.

Moreover, the American people were kept well informed of the entire proceedings. Every step of the way, we were given all the details. We have the right to know what our government is doing in such a high profile event.

The maniacs in the HOR are denying President Trump, his staff, his attorneys, VP Pence and We the People our constitutional and legal rights. They are racking up another in a long list of political scandals that sooner or later are going to get too heavy for them to carry and the load will crush them.

The l*****ts' ignorance of our constitutional and legal rights to due process is appalling.

This "impeachment inquiry" is terrible breach of our constitutional rights.

Anyone who imagines the stupidest woman in the HOR as POTUS is in serious need of a brain overhaul.

I am confident if the House takes a v**e and if an impeachment inquiry is v**ed for, then the can ask for documents that Vice President has on the Ukraine phone call. I agree, there is no legal or constitutional requirement to provide documents for a "fishing expedition."

I do not think the left is ignorant of due process. That just do not care to apply it to their enemies. That is why they are so dangerous.

You could understand what he wrote? Could you help me out? I could not make sense of it. I think that English is not his primary language. From the sentence structure, it may be TexMex.

Read the Constitution. There is no requirement for a v**e prior to conducting an inquiry. The Speaker of the house is merely following the Constitution. This is like the head of the Senate using the Constitution to justify denying President Obama a nominee to the Supreme Court.

The Constitution is not chocked full of information on procedures. However, we do have the history of past impeachments that does give us presedence on how to proceed. The full House v**ed to initiate an impeachment inquiry against presidents Nixon and Clinton. It is worth noting that in both 1974 and 1998 impeachment proceedings, the House judiciary committee v**ed to give the president procedural rights in the committee’s deliberations. The president and his counsel were invited to attend all executive session and open committee hearings, and the president’s counsel was entitled to cross-examine witnesses, make objections regarding the pertinence of evidence, respond to the evidence produced and even suggest additional evidence the committee should receive. Indeed, both Nixon and Clinton were allowed to speak on their own behalf.

What is going on now with the House Democrats is they are making the rules up as they go. Right now, this fits their goals, but what about the future?

Not handing over documents due to fundamental fairness from the house, that's rich, it really is. Good, Pelosi for president nothing could be finer, or sweeter.

Nixon was impeached for obstruction of justice, abuse of power, and contempt of Congress, when he refused his subpoena, I think we may have a case of deja' vu
