They may give the injections but so do other personnel such as pharmacy personnel. Orderlies may give the enemas and the meals are distributed by dietary personnel. Bedpans are emptied by certified nurse assistants.
In many areas, nurses are permitted to refuse to give medications they deem not satisfactory for any reason. I once had a nurse refuse to give a medication because of the side effect, to cause drowsiness. I gave it to the patient to have the side effect get the patient to sleep. She'd been unable to with other medications.
