While it’s true that people are now beginning to realize that Reaganomics did a lot to destroy the middle class, and it’s almost certain that he was experiencing symptoms of Alzheimers while still in office, I don’t think he is regarded that poorly that Trump would be compared to him. Yes, he certainly committed criminal acts, and had Ollie North not perjured himself to save him, Reagan might have been impeached, but I really think you’re being too hard on Reagan.
I don’t think there’s another President or political figure that we’ll ever compare Trump to. This is a new paradigm. Even Nixon’s crimes weren’t as bad as Trump’s. Benedict Arnold is the closest comparison, and one can’t really call him a political figure.
