Genesis 29 chapter

Verse 1 - 8

Jacob travels to Padanaram. He sees a well with a 400 pound stone on top of it. He then meets Laban’s servants. Later he meets Rachel and falls in love. He wants to water the sheep she is watching. The servants won’t water Rachel’s sheep until all of the sheep are together. That way they only have to uncover the well one time. Jacob is strong and can uncover the well by himself.

Verse 9 - 14

Jacob waters the sheep, meets Rachel and falls in love, and meets his uncle Laban. He explains who he is and why he has come.

Verse 15 - 20

Jacob and Laban agree that Jacob will watch Laban’s sheep seven years for Rachel’s hand in marriage. Rachel has a big sister named Leah. Jacob also receives pay which Laban changes ten times.

Verse 21 - 30

Seven years have passed and Jacob wants to marry Rachel. Laban throws a feast and sneaks in Leah instead of Rachel.Jacob agrees to keep sheep seven more years for Rachel. Laban gives handmaids to his daughters, Leah and Rachel. Leah gets Zilpah. Rachel gets Bilhah.

Verse 31 - 35

God opens Leah’s womb and she has four children.
