Over the past two decades, Democrats have been pushing very hard to do away with the Second Amendment. Both nationally and at state levels, many Democrats have pushed legislation to restrict gun ownership as much as possible. In some states, such as New York, Maryland and California and cities like Chicago, Baltimore and Los Angeles, Democrats have succeeded in passing numerous restrictive anti-Second Amendment laws and ordinances.

Ironically, those locations are among the nation’s leading areas with the highest incidence of gun violence, yet, Democrats are unwilling to admit the direct relationship between gun control and gun violence.

During the reign of Barack Hussein Obama, there was a huge push for more gun control laws, with some Democrats actually stating that their goal was to repeal the Second Amendment. Consequently, gun and ammunition sales hit record highs for several years. Membership in the National Rifle Association (NRA) also soared with the threat of anti-gun legislation being pushed by Democrats.

After the e******n of Donald Trump, it appeared that NRA membership and their finances followed the decline in gun and ammunition sales. With a pro-Second Amendment president, fears about gun bans diminished.

However, after a rash of crazies using guns for mass shootings, the call for stricter gun control, up to and including gun bans, have taken on a whole new level of political activity. Not only are most Democrats using gun violence to push more anti-gun legislation, but some RINOs have begun to join them. Consequently, membership in the NRA has again risen. In April 2019, it was reported that NRA membership had not only has NRA membership recovered from the decline after Trump took office, but the membership has reached the highest level ever, with about 5.5 million members.

Many believe that over the past few decades, it was the political influence of the NRA that has been the strongest voice to protect the Second Amendment rights of American citizens. The political influence of the NRA has been a bane for Democrats who are dead set on disarming the American people as part of their push to make America a socialist nation.

The anti-NRA mindset among Democrats has grown to such a point that many now believe that it should be illegal for anyone to join the membership, as reported:

The National Rifle Association is America’s largest gun rights organization with more than five million members. But a sizable number of Democrats views it as a terrorist group and believes it should be against the law for Americans to belong to pro-gun rights organizations like the NRA.

Following several recent mass shootings, officials in San Francisco declared the NRA a d******c t*******t organization. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that nearly one-out-of-three Likely Democratic V**ers (32%) favor declaring the gun-rights group a terrorist organization in the community where they live. Fourteen percent (14%) of Republicans and 20% of v**ers not affiliated with either major party agree.

Twenty-eight percent (28%) of Democrats say Americans should be prohibited by law from belonging to pro-gun rights organizations like the NRA, a view shared by 15% of Republicans and 10% of uanffiliateds.

Among all likely v**ers, 23% favor declaring the NRA a terrorist organization in their home community, while 18% think it should be against the law to belong to pro-gun rights groups like the NRA.

Only 13% believe NRA members are more likely to commit a crime with a gun. A plurality (47%) says members of the group are less likely to commit such a crime, while 28% think the level of gun crime by NRA members is about the same as in the population at large. Twelve percent (12%) are undecided.

This coincides with much of the anti-America, anti-Constitution, anti-rights, anti-freedom agenda. It’s all part of their plan to turn America into another Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Russia or China!

If you take the time to check on every NRA convention you will find not one incident of a shooting.
And as a member, everyone, there is packing.

I don’t know if terrorist organization describes the NRA, but they certainly are an asset of the Russian government, have conspired with them and taken their money to use to obtain Russian goals in US e******ns. They have no business having a tax free status when they are doing the bidding of our Russian enemies.

Make no mistake about it, the left is adamant about eliminating the 2nd Amendment, destroying firearm manufacturers through frivolous law suits and bankrupting the NRA. Their ultimate goal is outlawing private ownership by civilians and forced confiscation. Of course the reason for this is it would be difficult, if not impossible to turn the US into their socialist nervana.

You neglected one key word "Alleged". The NRA was doing nothing more than working with citizens of

another country, in helping them promote firearms rights in their own countries.

The NRA has been working for many years, to advance firearms rights around the world.

She will be gone soon enough and not be able to run again. I have to say Oregon makes it easy to get a gun. Waiting periods are about 5 minutes in my recent experience and you don't have to wait 3 days for a pistol like we used to. You can get a pistol and take it home the same day now. We are still open carry. I really like the h****rs safety courses that the NRA teaches but I do not want a private organization pushing their agenda on our government. That is my major complaint with them. Kate Browns idea that we can only buy 20 rounds of ammo a month is never going to fly. Just had to throw that in.

Yes, those connections are troubling (I don't like it one bit) but the overreaching ultimate goal is to disarm honest American citizens. Please look at what's happened to Venezuela. The citizens can't fight back as the government has ALL THE GUNS. That isn't propaganda; it's fact. Venezuela used to be the most prosperous South American nation. Now? In the past few years, the average Venezuelan go to has lost over 30 lbs.There's no milk available for babies. Emergency supplies sent from the USA and others are largely confiscated by their military and leadership. People are leaving Venezuela like rats off a sinking ship. This is the product of SOCIALISM and I don't want this to happen here.

I have no problem with our state gun laws.

Gangs up in Portland aren't going into stores and passing a brief background check.

We know that dangerous people acquire firearms nefariously.

I agree that Brown is bad for Oregon to remain Oregon when we are a culture of firearms..hunting, sport, target shooters...and most important of all reasons, to own proper home defense firearms.

The radical bills that Brown is promoting are fashioned to allow h****rs to keep five shot weapons.

Then they'll want to limit possession to gun club members where hunting rifles will be held.

Once the government starts picking away at any of our rights, not just guns, we're in danger of tyranny.

Easy they are too far carried away and are getting people worked up needlessly. The 2nd amendment says we have the right to keep and bear arms. We will and we shall. To repeal any amendment would take several years just the same as making a new one. Every state has their own gun laws and some citys are very strict. What is troubling to me is-- with every mass k*****g the NRA steps up with the propaganda and guns and ammo fly off the shelves. You get a goofball like Beto saying we are going after you AR 15s and the rush is on. People are running scared needlessly and it is not good for the country.
