Republicans show signs of discomfort in defense of Trump

Republicans, even as they generally show support for President Trump, are showing signs of discomfort amid an impeachment fight that has engulfed the country.

The battle over Trump's actions toward Ukraine marks the biggest test to date for Republicans, who are juggling the president's demand for loyalty with questions about his push for a foreign government to investigate a political rival.

While the party has largely rallied behind him against the Democrats' impeachment push, there are some signs of cracks just days into the scandal that is likely to dominate the rest of 2019.

" . . . "

[Note: THAT " . . . " is called an ellipsis, which is used in quoting text when part of the original material is omitted, much as it was in the so-called "Transcript of trump's call to Zelensky".

The difference HERE is that the portion I choose to leave out is for brevity to guide readers of my topic to the salient point(s) I wish to make.

The portions left out of the "Transcript" appear to be conveniently omitted at such points in time as to obscure to whom the words following were to apply which, had such omissions been left in, there would be no question as to the meaning.

HINT: There exist neither logical nor justifiable cause to have left those missing parts out of a true "Transcript" - - it is one thing had they been said to be redactions for National Security, but it is quite another when the omissions are obvious obfuscations meant to manipulate readers' thinking to "get out in front of" the real meaning by way of an illegitimate summary, much as was clearly done in Barr's early release of a Mueller "summary".

HOUSE OF CARDS, FOLKS, AND IT MUST STOP.]

But some Republicans have suggested members of their party are standing by Trump not because they support him but because they are afraid of a high-profile break with the president, who is known for relishing public feuds and lashing out at his critics.

Former Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), who was one of Trump's most vocal critics while in the Senate, said he personally wasn't a fan of impeachment but predicted that 35 of his former GOP colleagues would v**e to impeach Trump if they could do so as part of a secret v**e.

"Anybody who has sat through two years, as I have, of Republican luncheons realizes that there's not a lot of love for the president," Flake said during an interview with NPR's "Here and Now." "There's a lot of fear of what it means to go against the president, but most Republican senators would not like to be dealing with this for another year or another five years."

Asked why he was one of the only Senate Republican criticizing Trump, Romney also appeared to suggest that some of his colleagues were making a political calculation.

"There's such enormous power associated with being the party in power, both in the White House as well as in the Senate and the House," Romney said during the Atlantic Festival. "I think it's very natural for people to look at circumstances and see them in the light that's most amenable to their maintaining power and doing things to preserve that power."

All your hopes and desires are NOT going to happen. The man made h**x, radical DEMS are experts is not going to prevail. All the loud mouth accusations of Schiff and Pelosi do not have credence in the legal sense that communication of president Trump to Ukraine president did not have a quid-po-quo. The president Zelensky admitted that there was no pressure. He is a great witness to this matter. The whistle blower I think could be in lots of trouble and could be prosecuted. The transcript versus the report of the whistle blower have different contents. They do not reconcile with each other. The transcript was written by a legal expert, and not prepared by the whistle blower. This fabricated h**x evidence will not work. And again, the radical DEMS be put to shame. Since they have no shame, they still will swallow their p***e, and keep on attacking.

The radical DEMS in Congress have not done anything but working for their own to take power away from the president who was duly elected by the people. The radical DEMS in Congress are so blatantly dishonest and corrupt. They were elected to serve the people, but instead, they are serving their own greed. No shame. Get rid of them in the Nov 2020 e******n. They are LIARS, CROOKS,, FRAUDSTERS, DISHONEST, and socialist-c*******ts. Pelosi and Schiff must be locked up.

A Republican congressman supports an “oversight process" to determine whether President Trump broke the law when he asked a foreign leader to look into a political opponent’s activities.

Just don’t call it an impeachment inquiry.

Rep. Mark Amodei of Nevada used language during a phone call with reporters on Friday night that suggested he supported the Democrats’ investigation into Trump.

“Let’s put it through the process and see what happens,” Amodei said, according to the Nevada Independent. "I’m a big fan of oversight, so let’s let the committees get to work and see where it goes.”

“Using government agencies to, if it’s proven, to put your finger on the scale of an e******n, I don’t think that’s right,” he added. “If it turns out that it’s something along those lines, then there’s a problem.”
