There is nothing to defend, an employee recognized wrongdoing and followed the proper procedure to report it and did. He did his duty to his nation, his duty to justice and his duty to the office of President.

Several of his trusted colleagues voiced grave concern independently over Trumps crime, he or she simply reported it as was his duty. when the Inspector General looked into the allegation he found not only that it was true and collaborated by others he discovered the White House attempted to cover it up by burying the evidence in a special high security computer system reserved for classified information.

Of course not but that is irrelevant, it is more than enough to begin an investigation which is exactly what happened with the Inspector General who with a few interviews found the information presented to be entirely accurate. The evidence and testimony gathered when investigating what was pointed at by the whistleblower is entirely admissible in any court. The path the information took to come to light is of no relevance, the thing to focus on is and has always been Trumps unethical and illegal actions, that is ALL that matters.

POTUS is part of the intelligence community, which was why the complaint ( not a whistle blower ) went to the ICIG, who investigated, found the complaint credible and marked it "urgent". The White House and it's appologizers and fixers, began the "whistle blower" narrative, in an effort to deflect and try to minimize the seriousness of the issue.

My guess is..................their efforts will fail.
