A crime, a h**e crime part 2, followup from Jul 13 post

I witnessed a situation a year ago that ijust went to trial. A video was taken and I was right behind the camera, so what they showed, I saw in real time.

A women, wearing a Puerto Rican t-shirt had reserved a picnic grove in a local forest preserve. Me and my friends happened by about the time this flared up. A drunk, in his 60s was there. He was offended by her T-shirt. He swore at her and demanded to know if she was a citizen. As a Puerto Rican, she was and is. Several times he approached her and got right in her face. She calmly defended herself and her citizenship and her right to be there with a picnic permit reserving the grove for her group alone. He wouldn't leave and kept pestering her and shouting out his profanity. At this point, all he did was spew a lot of venom about her shirt.

There was a County Forest Preserve cop witnessing this whole thing. She appealed to the cop stating her right to be there with a permit. The cop meanwhile stayed about fifty to seventy-five feet away and did nothing. He didn't even acknowledge her. The drunk and the cop did engage in some conversations, but the cop did nothing and the drunk continued. By not taking any action against the drunk he essentially gave his passive affirmative approval to his actions. At no time was she physically threatened. With our presence, she was not going to be physically attacked. We didn't do anything directly because there was a cop there and it was his job. If we interfered we might have been involved and in opposition to what the cop thought was the right thing to do. (???) Wh**ever that was. But she would have not been physically harmed.

Damn politicians got involved. The video went v***l. Politicians saw it. They I. D. the man. The cop quit. Utter absolute cowardice. The particular Forest Preserve was made alcohol free and is the only one in the county so designated.
(This personally affects me and my friends. Several times a year we would pick that forest preserve to go running and then stop after for a few quick beers and maybe a Bar-B-Q. It is now only allowed for large groups with a permit)
The drunk was initially charged with some misdemeanor. Then the chief states attorney raised it to higher charges calling it a h**e crime after politicians everywhere sounded off on it. (Trial by politician). The states attorney is seeking 2 to 5 years. He is already paying a lot of money for an attorney, She will probably sue him in civil court for wh**ever money she can get. She will probably sue the county for the incompetence of its cop in totally ruining her birthday.

My take. He was a drunk, drinking alone that day. She showed up with that huge Puerto Rican f**g on her t-shirt. He sort of flipped and shouted out. The cop should have shooed him away and after 5 minutes of calming down, she and her friends could have enjoyed a nice birthday party. At most, a drunk and disorderly ticket and a fine of a few hundred dollars.

Instead we have an avalanche of stupidity and even the innocents will pay (we can't drink there anymore, tax payers will pay though her lawsuit of the County, and he might get up to five years in jail at our expense.) This stupid schmuck will pay far more then it is worth. And she will get a lot of money for a minor unpleasant incident that didn't last that long and there was no physical damage.

The trial is over. A jury of ten women and only two men took about 3.5 hours to find him guilty of a h**e crime. He was immediately taken to jail and the Judge will pronounce sentence next month. After she hears and reads so many comments from politicians everywhere in Illinois.

Wow. There's a lot to digest here. I'm glad the cop quit, he sounds like a real sh**. The drunknen guy sounds like a bigot, but I agree, he seems to be paying a high price for his stupidity. As to the politicians (most of them are attorneys) involved, and their solution to the problem, I think Shakespere's quote says it best, " The first thing we do....".

As a conservative, I don't give a tinker's dam about what the instigator's drug of choice is, be it alcohol, pot, crack, heroin, etc. The intoxication is one issue and the crime is another. He should have been charged with public intoxication and for harassment of the poor woman and arrested and taken away to jail by the errant (and cowardly) officer.

Please tell me what crime did he commit other then being stupid and yelling inaproprietly at poor women???...He doesn't deserve being charged with h**e crime and possibly spending 2 yrs in jail for being drunk and stupid!!!

I don't have access to the video, but public intoxication is a crime and so is assault and being a public nuisanse is as well. 2 years is a bit steep, but wrecking her celebration deserves some recompense. H**e crime? That's a bit steep. I 'll bet he doesn't pull that stunt on ANYONE again, though. We're too soon old and too late smart.

Probably couldnt afford one. So he gets a public defender from the system. Actually he may not even get that, cuz they probably twist this crap to keep it a civil matter so no public defender required. Although, if he DID have a lawyer he could probably stay out of jail cuz civil usually monetary penalties only. What an effing mess

Welcome to the NWO. People in Europe are jailed not only for what they say out loud, but what they say in social media
