I do not like this site, but I like the software they use, and this community seems to provide some sanity for those who want to understand why conservatives, Right-wingers, and traditionalists think the way that they do:

I bring it up because during my time there, I have seen the wisdom of their idea of "Open Discussion" versus debate. When we keep everything polite, and remove the rhetoric/memes/tropes/gotchas, people can see just how much Right and Left differ in terms of the type of society in which they want to live.

So reddit.com maintains an "Open Discussion" differentiating from an online standard "debate" by enforcing their own concept of being polite, and restricting their participants to their own vision of "refined" whose concept of "polite" does not differ from their own.
Now, that requires some policing.
Obviously all those supposedly acquiring "sanity" as they learn the eternal mystery of "why conservatives, Right-wingers, and traditionalists think as they do" are not conservatives, or right-wingers, or traditionalists.
This means they are all Democrats, Progressives, Liberals, Marxists or wh**ever is left out there who are totally ignorant of the differences between those on the left and those on the right.
I have not met anyone of age in a very long time who is not already aware of those differences in the "utopia" each group seeks to maintain, or to create.

Who is converting who, and to what end?
The inquiring group is dedicated to godlessness, lawlessness and sexual perversion, are they not?
Those they investigate are most likely committed to worshiping a Supreme God, maintaining Law and Order, and a natural Family unit composed of Male, Female and offspring.
Where is the meeting of the mind, the common ground if you will, to be found?

I think there are several groups.
There are those who come to fight, and they are potentially as you describe.
Then there are those who come to read.
Those are the ones I would like to reach, since they do not understand why we think as we do.

Progressives, Democrats, Marxists, Liberals understand exactly what we believe and why we believe. We think as we do because of the values we have internalized. We learned those values from the Sovereign Deity/Almighty God we worship through His eternal Word, the Holy Scriptures.
It's that simple, though the world deny it.
Those who advocate a life of sexual deviancy, the wholesale murder of both the unborn, and now even children outside the birth canal, and worship of a personalized earth in the form of Gaia, know that our faith is in the God of Creation, and they gnash their teeth at us.
They are giving up none of those atrocities, thus, the only possibility for a meeting of our minds is for us to acquiesce, and forsake our beliefs...
For most of us that is impossible.
Your goals, based on my experience and understanding, are naive.
It is true that it does not hurt to talk, but the solution of most progressives to actual government responsibilities that require a solution through action, believe that after conducting a meeting and discussing the problem, they have resolved it. No further action required.
It's that simple, though the world deny it.

All the egalitarian beliefs seem the same to me. They are designed to sound morally correct, but really, they are the same idea that Genghis Khan had: make a mass of clueless people and mobilize it to do your own bidding.
