Is trump a 'closet federalist' ?

Could be since trump is very much against states rights that HE disagrees with, and is wanting to grab more power for the executive branch, which means more power for him.

And don't republicans always scream that they are for a SMALLER federal government, except when it benefits them and trump in particular.

Which is antithetical for those cons who immediately want to cite a section of the federalist papers to make a point or reinforce one.

And just so you don't forget, the basis of federlism is to have a STRONG central government in total opposition to republicanism.

So what is trump?

President Trump IS NOT against states rights, he is against states violating federal laws.

The basis of Federalism is the equal division of powers between a central national government and the governments of the several states or provinces.

Federalist #45

Madison argues that the Union as outlined in the Constitution is necessary to the people's happiness and that the balance of power between the states and the national government will support the greatest happiness for the people.

A smaller, streamlined central government is far more economical, efficient and effective than an enormously expensive, inefficient, ineffective, and certainly more dangerous bloated government, such as a socialist or c*******t goverment.

Republicanism is the guiding political philosophy of the United States that has been a major part of American civic thought since its founding. It stresses liberty and unalienable individual rights as central values, making people sovereign as a whole; rejects monarchy, aristocracy and inherited political power, expects citizens to be virtuous and faithful in their performance of civic duties, and vilifies corruption. American republicanism was articulated and first practiced by the Founding Fathers in the 18th century. For them, Republicanism represented more than a particular form of government. It was a way of life, a core ideology, an uncompromising commitment to liberty, and a total rejection of aristocracy.

Any association between him and real knowledge is purely accidental.

Well said.

Our domestic lefties are so immersed in their socialist beliefs that, despite being Americans by birth, our nation's founding principles are totally alien to them, as though they'd been educated in Cold War era Moscow rather than the United States.
