Well, here we have a fine example of the new right and how their modus-operandi works. In order to keep control over the outcome of NC house, they decided to tell democrats, there would not be a meeting on 9/11, and many democrats went to events to honor the people from 9/11 and low and behold, the unethical unconstitutional snakes with their convicted illegal gerrymandering, now held a meeting, missing the majority of democrats and v**ed, all in order to achieve what they wanted no-matter-what, which was to a bill to increase the budget in order to increase benefits to the corporate wealthy. These are not representatives who support the people.

The meeting was scheduled and posted. The itenary was also posted. Most Democrats elected to attend events associated with 911. A proper quarm assembled and a motion to v**e took place. Perhaps Democrats in the future will attend scheduled meetings instead of taking time off with pay.

Bull, they were told there would not be a v**e. We've seen these sneaky tactics before under Bush and the Patriot ACT. So save it, we ll know about the fairness of quarm's, and we know this was another manipulation no matter how you want to slice it, they should NOT have assembled on 9/11 and you know it! To disagree with that, in my opinion, leaves you morally corrupt... and clearly why you align with the GOP and Trump.

Just remember what goes around comes around, it always does.

Shame on you, to be "for" exploiting that day to seek their opportunity, I expected more from you.

The state legislature was in session Wednesday morning, but Democrats were told there wouldn’t be any v**es. So some lawmakers joined Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper at a ceremony for the victims of 9/11. Others stayed in their districts.

Republican leaders scheduled a surprise v**e to override Cooper’s budget veto, an unprecedented partisan play that blindsided the state Democrats. Cooper called it “trickery, deception, and lies.”

Think again...More sneaky underlying tactics from the right, this only validates once again who they have become who they are.

K...

Second thoughts...

Your government has secret meetings that decide public policy....No one is aware of this... Only certain members of the OPP are outraged...

The horror...

Tell me, what happened to cleaning the swamp??? Where'd all that outrage go? Ah, I gotcha, there's only an outrage when it doesn't benefit them /you(since you have chosen a side). It's hard for the King snake to clean his own swamp, maybe that's why so many people are let go, such a conflict he must live with every day, his own little dilemma.

Tell me who makes all these secret meetings in his own hotels?

No....it's not right.

The Republicans in the NC general assembly did not post there would be a v**e about over riding the governors budget veto. They could only do so if Democrats did not v**e.

This was subterfuge at it's finest.

Truly?

That seems wrong...

Yet NC is a state...

How is that Trump's fault?

I don't know how it's Trump's fault. He had nothing to do with it.

NC politics is extremely 'swampy' right now and has been for a good while. The Democrats were kicked out for good reason (lots of corruption) in 2010 and the Republicans held a super majority in the General Assembly until 2018. They could basically do as they pleased. And did. Unfortunately, they are now as corrupt as the Democrats were earlier.

It would not surprise me if another major change is coming in 2020. NC has undergone rapid urbanization and Republican policies are often at great odds with the needs and wishes of urban areas. Those areas are turning solidly blue. Antics like this budget veto over-ride without Democrats participating will come back to haunt the Republicans .
