Annville, Pennsylvania, where atheist veterans marching in the Memorial Day parade were jeered, booed, insulted, cursed at, yelled at to leave, and told they were going to burn in hell. Not once or twice by a couple of fanatics… but repeatedly, throughout the course of the parade.

Let me spell that one out again. In small town America, veterans – veterans, on Memorial Day, marching in a Memorial Day parade — were jeered, booed, insulted, cursed at, yelled at to leave, and told they were going to burn in hell.

They carried a banner.“Remembering all who bravely served, including atheists in foxholes.”

Did you click on the link to read the article? There is also a link to a video on that site of the parade.

Their purpose in doing this was exactly what? Rather then simply being Veterans they felt a need to make another political statement?

While I do not believe that the parade was the appropriate time to carry a sign proclaiming that they are atheists, it was more inappropriate for onlookers to boo them. The Veterans Day parade is not the place to make political statements on either side. It is for remembering those who have sacrificed for our country. Totally ignoring the sign would have been the thing to do, if for no other reason than to keep the parade civil.

I don't happen to be an atheist. However, they certainly have a right to throw in their 2 cents. That right cost a lot of soldiers their lives, so why criticize them for exercising it.

Believing or not believing in God, makes God neither there or not there. Beliefs do not have that kind of power.

Also if God is all powerful why would he/she be threatened if some did not worship?

People of strong faith are rarely threatened by others who don't see the world their way.

They choose to single themselves out, and make a statement. I'm sure if they had not tried to segregate the parade by bringing special attention to their atheism there would not have been a problem.
Family and friends of fallen soldiers, Christian or Not, like to believe their fallen are in heaven, or a better place. Those are far more then the majority.
That group should have just enjoyed the honoring and parade Americas Military fallen receive rather than showing such disrespect as making a statement only of themselves.

Atheists and Gays are this disrespectful, selfish, and self absorbed that the attention needs to be on them.

I'm glad the public spoke out about their tactics. There are times when people just need to be 'one.'

Being an atheist is beyond my comprehension. A lot of things are. But these were men who had risked their lives so that we can be free. They deserved respect for being veterans. The anger and vile mood in this nation is truly upsetting.

It was a day of celebration to be a "VETERAN." Nothing else, but a Veteran.
To make "political statements" out of the affair, rather than the yearly flowing of honoring our Vets, was wrong, and those who did this- got told so.
If you can't see this, than you are part of the problem that was being boo'd.
There is a time and a place for all things under the sun. This was the wrong day to try and show supremacy in Atheism.
That's exactly what it was: "HEY LOOK AT US, LOOK AT US, LOOK AT US!" TO HELL WITH YOUR HONORING OF VETERANS; LOOK AT US, LOOK AT "A T H E I S M."
Selfish bastards!

The actual meaning of the word bastard per God, is a man with out a Father God.

You didn't see me in the parade carrying a banner saying that!

By that logic any person that is not involved in anything that's not politics should avoid any sort of political statement.

So the lady at the store that sent me on my way saying "have a blessed day" I should have, according to you, turned to her and told her to go eff herself. As that is not the time or place to engage in such discussion, or is that ok because it falls in line with your beliefs?

I did nothing of the sort. I recognize that not everyone believes the same things I do. This fact, is wherein the real problem lies. Not everyone gets it. Just because you don't agree with someone's stance doesn't make you superior to them, nor does it mean that just because they are focusing on one subset doesn't mean they deserve any less respect.

Contrary to a popular anecdote, there do exist atheists in foxholes. This group chose to remind people that they exist, and should be given the same respect as any veteran deserves. There was no, "the christian soldiers c***ted, they used god mode" banners flying (although that would have been really funny).

I remember another popular anecdote, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

As they should have been. It's just as stupid to carry a banner in a Memorial Day parade displaying your religious stance as it is to carry one displaying your sexual preference. It was a MEMORIAL DAY PARADE, for pete's sake, not a Baptists convention or an atheist's parade. It was about honoring our war dead, not shoving their anti-religious views on the general public. Just plain stupid and thoughtless.

Inappropriate is inappropriate.

Atheists? They probably pushed God-fearing Christians in front of them to take the fire. Or dug really deep foxholes...to their father Satan! How did they survive, eh, while fearless w***e A******n Christians willingly gave their lives for our nation? Were they collaborators, perhaps? Did they succumb to the atheist propaganda of survival of the fittest and see the Aryan as Chosen, not discharging their weapons at this enemy but rather opening a pathway through our lines?

How dare they march in the same parade as true Christian warriors!

Put it back in your pants buddy. Athiests and Gays are the most disrespectful people in America. Like dumb rhino's and elephants they plow there way through everyone with: "WE'RE HERE, WE'RE HERE!" I'm sure these animals will be showing up picketing the Christmas Parades, reporting nativity scenes, and burning pictures of Jesus Christ.

And yes, According to John the Baptists month of birth being in Tammuz (July), Jesus Christ was born six months later in Chislev (December).
In the month of Chislev (our December), the Jews had to return to their birth cities for taxation. Plus, on December 25th, was the "Feast of the Rebuilt and Rededicated Temple" to where so many people were in Bethlehem at that time, there was no rooms at the Inn, and Jesus was born in a manger. On Chislev/December 25th, the already sacred day for the Jews.

The Hebrew month does not run a parallel with our civil calendar months. There months only contained 29 and 30 days rotating every other month, and they had an extra month at times to absorb extra days at the end of a year.
Jesus Christ was born on December 25th, and conceived in the 1st month of the Hebrew Calendar: Abib, our April.

So, OK B****sheep and all you other atheists, try desecrating our Lord's Holy Birthday Festival this year~
