I'd be glad if they took a permanent leave.

Hello Proud, how would you change Congress?

We have a big problem in lack of quality and worldly experience amongst our senators and representatives.

Term limits would only spin the revolving door faster of more incompetence, crooks and c*******ts.

Woodrow Wilson created the 4th Branch of government of "experts" under a myriad of bureaucracies to regulate us to death instead of legislate us to death.

So here's the plan: You get what you pay for.

Pay our senators and representatives $5 million dollar salaries every year, just like a CEO of a major corporation or sk**led professional - let's attract people of great merit, instead of community organizers, bar tenders and proteges of Saul Alinsky and Al Capone.

I think you get the gist of this.

E******ns are term limits. We must attract the best and the brightest and keep the best experienced congressmen on the job.

Auction off the bureaucracies and privatize them, only congress consulting them on an as-needed-basis.

Let's petition our congressmen to pass an On Time Budget Act, where if they cannot submit a balanced budget to the President by July 1st each year, then withhold their pay for every day they dally and don't produce.

ACTION right now!

They have to hurry back to not do all the stuff they didn't do before they left. Mitch has to schedule all the stuff he won't let Senators v**e on. They are the hardest non workers I've ever seen.

Problem with your idea, you won't get the best or the brightest. No matter what you pay them. The people are too easily bought with promises. I'd actually go the other way. Two terms only. Why? because the way the system is set up money wise incumbents have a major advantage as long as we retain the same campaign finance laws. I want people who truly want to serve for the benefit of the American people. I'd freeze their present salary and only increase it along with Social Security increases. Their accumulated retirement would be t***sferred into a 401K, No more pensions, Lastly. Be in Washington one month out of three. The other two months, work from home. Can always call for a special session if an emergency comes up. Would make them much more accountable to their constituents if they were in the state instead of people feeling like their rep moved to the land of Oz. Work every day when in Washington. All corporations have the ability to "go to meeting" while sitting at home". Cut staff by 2/3's. Make these ass hats actually do the work. Legitimate expenses only. None of this flying all over and partying on the tax payer dime. I believe if these stipulations were known going in only people who truly wanted to work for the betterment of the country would apply. We might not get the best or brightest but we'd get the most concerned. Just my opinion.

I don't think that would do any good at this time. This country is divided into two clans, of the not too distant past.
