Thank you for your prayers.

As we all watched in horror what the monster hurricane Doria did to the Bahama’s, I know that at least a few of you here on OPP said a prayer or two that the people here in Florida wouldn’t suffer the same fate. I just wanted to thank you for those prayers and to ask you to continue to pray for the people in the Carolina’s, and for the folks in the Bahama’s.

We live in Cocoa Beach Florida, which was in the dead center of the cone until a few days before the storm, and I know our home would not have survived a cat 4 hurricane.

Some people don’t believe in the power of prayer, but, some people do. I can probably tell you which ones on OPP do and don’t, but, then again, I might be surprised. For those that did pray for us, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. We dodged a huge bullet. I believe prayers were answered. Thanks again.

I have to agree. I believe it was the direct answer to prayer that we didn't take a big hit here eat of Orlando toward Cocoa Beach. Now comes time to rebuild in the Bahamas and we're looking for a good reliable charity to send some money to help those who were worst hit, so that we know those who need it will get it. Clintons need not apply.

You must know where the Dallas turnoff is on the B Line.. We live about 2 miles north off Dallas in Wedgefield. We only got about 2 inches, although the water table was soaked before Dorian came. We got a few gusts upwards of 50 MPH.

I’m thinking of using my business, which is a retail store as a drop off point for supplies and donations for the people in the Bahamas. We did that during Katrina and an owner of a large hardware business in Cocoa had it and other drop offs from other businesses shipped by truck to New Orleans. It worked out pretty well. I hope people are as charitable as they were after Katrina. These poor people have absolutely nothing. Please donate to the Salvation Army. They are the best at getting the money to the people that need it the most. Thank you.

I know exactly where that is. You must have been quite relieved that storm took that turn to the east like we were.

Our house can take a Cat 3 hurricane (and has in prior years). The big issue for us is the horses. Fortunately, the huge studs are sunk 6 feet into the ground and the roof is bolted on. People brought their horses here for safekeeping because they know our barn is safe and dry. My sister and brother-in-law have done this a number of times and all the livestock are doing well.

I have my nephews and their kids in Miami, FL. Dear Lord, I prayed and prayed, that the hurricane be away from the land. These kids have also their devotion to God, and they prayed. Prayers give comfort, hope and confidence that God is always there. God heals. In my experience, a true story. That is why God said:
Matthew: 22:36-40
Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. ... And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
May God guide and protect them all from hurricane.

Now everyone needs to pray for the people in the Carolina’s. It’s going to make landfall up in North Carolina. Those poor folks are gonna take a hard hit.
