If Dorian crosses over into the Gulf of Mexico it will then affect the weather over Florida, Georgia, and Alabama as well with significant rain fall and possible strong winds as well.

Quite right. Some projections have shown it going across the middle of Florida. It's happened before but it is difficult to compete with factnotfiction's ignorance of geography and history.

Technically, his tweet is right....if the hurricane stays on the predicted (as of Sunday) path the outflow wind and storm would reach Alabama. The prediction change early this morning, to a more easterly path.

Read his Sunday Tweet and what he said at the meeting: He told journalists: "And Alabama could even be in for at least some very strong winds and something more than that, it could be.
"This just came up, unfortunately. It's the size of the storm that we're talking about. So, for Alabama, just please be careful also," the president said.

President Trump is right as usual...They said on the news yesterday that it may effect Carolinas and its possible it will effect Alabama though its too soon to predict...for sure
