"I" refer to God as the Great I AM -and I am somebody, since you want to be semantical!

Exodus 3:14 [Full Chapter]

And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

You would be demonstrably better off to focus on the "spirit" of God's words more so than the letters written down by men. God is "greater" than any thing we can ever think, know, or even imagine. Therefore, placing "great" before His name is really a no brainer. Besides, if you go back and look at my post, I said, "I call Him...."
"I" refer to God as the Great I AM -and ... (show quote)

You would be better off to refrain from being so presumptuous as to think you have a superior "spirituality" than I or anyone else has with your recommendation to focus on "word" and not "letters," what ever that means.

Why do you assume that I think I have superior spirituality? I don't assume that when you get all semantical or try to tell me what I should think. If you're confused or uncertain about anything I post, all you have to do is ask me to explain. If that's too difficult for you, you could always ask someone else.

There are several million people who have a deeper understanding of spiritual matters than I - and I'm perfectly fine with that....God gave us teachers so that we could learn! I am proud of what I have learned from study and from what God shares with me through the Holy Spirit....why aren't you?

short answer: when recording biblical events, the authors often had to use words and phrases that "best described" the events due to language and cultural barriers. Additionally, with several different "versions" of the Bible available, there are a lot of 'events, concepts, and words' that have been changed, omitted, or misconstrued.....this is the what's meant by "following the letter" of the Bible. Following the "spirit" of God's word is a bit different.
Basically, if mankind truly understood that "God is Love" -it shouldn't matter which 'version' of the Bible you study because the "spirit" of the various versions all point out the same. God is a true, living, "triune" God of three equal parts: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God created the heavens, the earth, and all that is seen and unseen. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent (all powerful, all knowing, always present) and He created man (kind) in His own image. No, we are 'not gods' - but we do have d******n over the earth and the animals, and we are just a little less than the angels.

There you go, being all presumptuous again. Who says I'm not?

God has many, many names depending on who you ask. I refer to God as; the Almighty, the Great I AM, Yaw-weh, Jehovah-Jiri, Jehovah-Nisi, the Bright and Morning Star, the Rose of Sharon, the Lilly of the Valley, the Alpha and Omega, Wonderful, Mighty Counselor, and one who will stick to you closer than a brother....and many more.

What is your God's name?

Is that Mowie wowie your smoking?
