Why Do Muslims Put Gays to Death? Because of White Colonialists (Of Course)!

Hats off to Britain’s Sky News, which just ran a report on the rampant criminalization of homosexuality throughout Africa. In a rare feat of liberal media reporting, Sky News managed to temporarily put aside their anti-Western Civilization biases to peel back the curtain on Nigeria, where gays are still regularly put to death under the terms of Islam’s Sharia law. The searing report ripped into the h**eful religion of Islam by doing no more than pointing out the facts: In countries where Islam rules the roost, the values of liberal democracy die (along with a whole lot of innocent people).
Oh, they didn’t do any of that?
Sorry, our mistake. Yes, Sky News did do a report on the criminalization of homosexuality in the African world…but that simply provided them a platform upon which to blame this backwards nonsense on (who else) white Europeans.
“Homosexuality is punishable by the death penalty in four countries in Africa and millions view L**T people as ‘un-African’. This report looks at how colonial powers criminalised q***r people and where Africa’s next fight for e******y is likely to happen,” the news outlet wrote in a tweet accompanying a 12-minute YouTube report.
The report itself begins with a sober-toned narrator introducing the topic over vivid images of Nigeria.
“Nigeria,” he begins, “is Africa’s most populous and wealthy nation…but it’s also one of the most dangerous places in the world for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and t***s people. An increasingly hostile tone from the authorities and the enforcement of recent anti-gay laws has forced the already-discreet q***r community into hiding.”
Okay, stop the tape. Let’s see what we can see, just from the above reporting. One, there is an “increasingly hostile” tone from the authorities in Nigeria. Two, there are anti-gay laws, but they are “recent.” Three, things were already bad enough for the q***r community in Nigeria for them to be “discreet,” but now things are worse, forcing them into “hiding.” What does all of this point to? Well, call us naïve, but it seems to us that this means that, however things might have been for the L**T community in Nigeria a year ago, ten years ago, thirty years ago, something has happened recently to make things worse.
Could that something be an infection of radical, orthodox Islam? (Something that has happened recently).
Or is that something the lingering effects of 1800s-era Western colonization? (Something that happened a long time ago, but allows Sky News to blame European w****s).
At one point in the report, they show a map of Africa with all of the countries still criminalizing homosexuality highlighted in yellow. With few exceptions, they are countries now dominated by Islam and Sharia law.
Yet according to Sky News, these laws against homosexuality have their roots in Western colonialism, and that’s where the blame must be placed. They do not, strangely enough, make any effort to explain why Western Europe is free from these anti-gay laws. That, obviously, would not further the self-loathing agenda that European liberals (and their counterparts over here) crave so badly.
