That depends on how many historical incidents of that nature have been observed. I'm sure the ancient Egyptians had mattresses of papyrus. I bet they might have flown high and far in the right conditions.

I've thrown a few mattresses in a dumpster. The inner frame is made with 2X2 pine sticks and springs. The area looked like the UK or Europe. Maybe they have a new way of making them. Maybe they escaped from an Ikea factory?

I've never bought anything made from Ikea but I have heard it's like stubbing your toe putting their products together.
