Romans chapter 4

Verse 1 - 3

Like it says in Genesis 15:6, Abraham’s faith was counted for righteousness. Faith without works is dead. Worship without obedience is a waste of time. It doesn’t matter how well you sing if you steal..However, we should not trust in our own righteousness.

Verse 4 and 5

God uses whom He chooses, and is in complete control. We are all sinners. We should not point fingers. Our works should demonstrate our faith. We should have faith in God and not ourselves. Satan deceives the whole world. You will make enemies.

Verse 6 - 8

This is found in Psalms 32:1 and 2

Verse 9 and 10

Church attendance is not mandatory. The devil does his finest work in the pulpit. When Abraham’s faith was counted for righteousness in Genesis 15:6, he was uncircumcised.

Verse 11 - 14

Being circumcised now will do you no good. Circumcision is of the heart. No one openly displayed their circumcision scar. Your religion should speak for you, not you for it.

Verse 15 - 17

If you obey the law, you won’t be hurt by God. Be careful. Sin is deceptive. But God is in control.

Verse 18 - 22

Abraham was 100 when Isaac was conceived, Sarah was 90.

Verse 23 - 25

The old testament contains many important lessons. It should be read.
