My husband at the time was a welder and I had to go over there a lot. The government had these welders come in. I liked it because it paid more than other welding jobs. It was easy to get in.
I bet it isn't now.
The last time I went to Dyess in Abilene it took an act of Congress to get in and they were all carrying side arms .

good on you for repurposing the discards.

on topic: I live in L. A. I have a doctor at a clinic there st tent city & defecation row.

I know the cabs won't even go there. I got in one and gave the address and the cabdriver told me to get out.

I've seen ppl defecate standing at 7 in the morning as cars go by..

Is this Skid Row or are there more Skid Rows?

Interesting you mention Dyess - my son is currently stationed there - he's a Lt. Colonel and he and his family live on the base. I've been to visit several times, and you're right, it does almost take an act of Congress, even for family members, to get on the base. They give a time limit. You can stay 4 or 5 days and if you need to stay longer you have to go back and get re-admitted.

I've heard they're all armed, too.

That sounds crazy.
I took someone that lost their wallet. Oh my gosh, try replacing stuff with no proof of who you are.

It didn't used to be like that. I have been on several air Force Bases and I'm glad I don't have to go back to any of them.
I don't like to put up with the hassle to get in. Make sure you don't speed. Hope nothing comes out of your vehicle they could consider trash. It's nerve racking.
