History is Repeating Itself Just Look Around for the Signs
By Pastor Gary Boyd

History is repeating itself as Elam which is old Persia—modern-day Iran—is once again involved heavily in potential conflict with the nation of Israel. Satan has h**ed God’s Chosen People throughout all of human history, and his demonic powers have turned many governments against them. From Pharaoh in Egypt to Hitler in Germany to Iran today, the same evil forces are at work to try to destroy the Jewish people.

Iran is Israel's mortal enemy and has been since the Islamic revolution in 1979. The ayatollahs h**e the Jewish people, and it is part of their twisted ideology that a cataclysmic war is essential for the return of the “twelfth Mahdi,” their version of the Christian doctrine of the Second Coming of the Lord. Satan loves to imitate the Lord. And the threat is not just the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Iran has been frantically working to build up their own conventional forces, as well as arming the terrorist proxies Hezbollah and Hamas to do their dirty work for them. As you read this, there are 200,000 missiles in the hands of terrorists, poised and waiting to strike when Iran gives the word.

The devastation and destruction that will rain down on the Jewish people if and when (and it's more likely when than if right now) the war starts will be terrible.

As you may well know scripture states, Isaiah 17:1 - The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

Damascus, Syria is a 3,000 year old city that has never been destroyed, but Israel will destroy it, thus setting off conflict in the Middle East that will be a short protracted war with many deaths on both sides.
As far as Iran is concerned read it…….

There is A Message About Elam (Iran) in scripture:
34 This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah: 35 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “See, I will break the bow of Elam, the mainstay of their might. 36 I will bring against Elam the four winds from the four quarters of heaven;
I will scatter them to the four winds, and there will not be a nation where Elam’s exiles do not go. 37 I will shatter Elam before their foes, before those who want to k**l them. I will bring disaster on them, even my fierce anger,” declares the Lord. “I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them. 38 I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,” declares the Lord.
God says he will bless those who bless Israel, and curse those that curse Israel in these end of days. This is a perfect example of that.

The incredible lack of knowledge and ignorance relating to these things has resulted in terrible deception, which is growing in intensity. It is worth bearing in mind that no one can live right on wrong doctrine or teaching. It's like eating the wrong food. It will have implications further down the line!

Today we are in a world of "I think" instead of "I know." People say things like "God is love, therefore I think He would never judge the world or send anyone to hell." Today we are in a world of variables, with no absolutes anymore. God has given us everything we need for a successful life as a believer. He has given us His Spirit, His Word, His Presence, His disciples & teachers and yet deception grows today. If you do not study and know Gods Word by His Spirit in this day and age, not only are you deceived, but you deserve to be deceived.

The whole world is wrong, including the entire world's media! Well, that's quite a statement...and it really is the tragic t***h. The world's "Road-map to Peace" is the road-map to war! Be warned, the two-state solution involving plans to handover part of Israel to the Palestinians and to give them half of Jerusalem, will invoke the fury of God. The Bible is very clear on this and yet the world is charging headlong into one of its biggest blunders in history and the tragedy is that many churches are spearheading the charge!

The Bible warns in the book of Joel that "dividing up the land of Israel" will bring the fury and judgement of God onto all the nations and people involved. A parallel portion of scripture adds to this. The book of Zechariah warns that when the nations of the world try to move the rock which is Jerusalem, it will fall on and destroy them.

Although the Road-map to Peace will bring terrible judgement and war, God will deliver Israel. It is around this time the Bible declares that the Jews will "look upon Me whom they have pierced." This is one of the many Old Testament prophecies of the soon coming enlightenment and salvation of the Jews at large.

Today most of the church is working to bring about another holocaust upon Israel by declaring that the Palestinians have the right to a state and city. The world is stealing Israel’s Promised Land. God has declared His plan and it stands supreme! To go against his word in this will be a monumental error, a tragic demise of the world. Keep watching for more signs………

There is no gray area when it comes to the Bible. It predicts everything which has occurred in the past and what will occur in the future via the revelations. God has given his laws which should govern our conduct in our lives. The Bible very clearly states what all must do to get to heaven:

Obey the 10 Commandments
Go to Church on Sunday
Say a prayer every day: Example: God help me get through this day, meeting, test.
Say prayer for the sick, poor, your friends, your enemies, those suffering from some problem as you witness it.
Love your neighbor.
Avoid sin but if it happens ask for forgiveness.
Remember the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit
The Father, your Creator
The Son, your Savior
The Holy Spirit: Invite Christ into your heart and your soul becomes an extension of Christ, your spiritual state is alive in Christ
The Evil Spirit: Reject the Devil who if allowed to enter your heart your soul will become an extension of the Devil, your spiritual state is dead when possessed by the Devil.
Help those who are poor, sick, hurting, not at peace in Christ.
Have the spirit of Christ inside you at your time of death and regardless of your sins you will one day be with him in heaven.
You will have to atone for your sins even if you get to heaven, so the more sins you have the longer it will take to enter the gates of heaven. You can shorten the atonement time by doing good works while you are alive here on earth. The debit and credits are being audited daily. God Bless You All!

H**e to break it to you but following only what you’ve said is a path straight to Hell. The Bible CLEARLY says how our works are “like filthy rags” and how “by grace [we are] saved through faith.” You need to familiarize yourself with the Bible a little better.

But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV)

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)

You CLEARLY stated, "The Bible very clearly states what all must do to get to heaven."

The Bible does NOT very clearly state that the vast majority of the things you mentioned will earn your way into heaven.

You CANNOT earn your way into heaven. Read Ephesians 2:8-9 again.

I acknowledge Christ as my savior and God as my creator, and live my life according to his laws. I also believe in faith, hope, love and charity. How about the word of Christ, love thy neighbor as thyself. I got the grace of God at birth, baptism, first communion, and confirmation. By the way, you left out hope, love and charity in the verse quoted!

You have some homework ahead of you…dust off your Bible.

Bottom line: Salvation is by faith ONLY. Works are EVIDENCE of that salvation.

"Is salvation by faith alone, or by faith plus works" is perhaps the most important question in all of Christian theology. This question is the cause of the Reformation, the split between the Protestant churches and Catholic Church. This question is a key difference between biblical Christianity and most of the “Christian” cults. Is salvation by faith alone, or by faith plus works? Am I saved just by believing in Jesus, or do I have to believe in Jesus and do certain things?

The question of faith alone or faith plus works is made difficult by some hard-to-reconcile Bible passages. Compare Romans 3:28, 5:1 and Galatians 3:24 with James 2:24. Some see a difference between Paul (salvation is by faith alone) and James (salvation is by faith plus works). Paul dogmatically says that justification is by faith alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), while James appears to be saying that justification is by faith plus works. This apparent problem is answered by examining what exactly James is talking about. James is refuting the belief that a person can have faith without producing any good works (James 2:17-18). James is emphasizing the point that genuine faith in Christ will produce a changed life and good works (James 2:20-26). James is not saying that justification is by faith plus works, but rather that a person who is truly justified by faith will have good works in his/her life. If a person claims to be a believer but has no good works in his/her life, then he/she likely does not have genuine faith in Christ (James 2:14, 17, 20, 26).

Paul says the same thing in his writings. The good fruit believers should have in their lives is listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Immediately after telling us that we are saved by faith, not works (Ephesians 2:8-9), Paul informs us that we were created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). Paul expects just as much of a changed life as James does: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). James and Paul do not disagree in their teaching regarding salvation. They approach the same subject from different perspectives. Paul simply emphasized that justification is by faith alone while James put emphasis on the fact that genuine faith in Christ produces good works.

So if I believe in the trinity: God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that is faith. I never said “good works alone” would “earn” you salvation, you said that.

My point is that we should try to control our behavior and do good works by walking with with Christ every day.

Another point I am making is that bad works will lead you to condemnation because you are in violation of Gods laws and goes contrary to the teachings of Christ. Rejection will cost you your soul

Our choices are only two, rejection or repentance. Rejection is the death of your soul. Repentance is the life of your soul. Redemption is Jesus Christ.

So what are you trying to say?

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. James 2:19

I couldn't have been plainer.

I've given you a biblical perspective of faith and salvation.

You haven't provided a biblical perspective once. It appears that all you're telling me is how you "feel."

Are you saved? And if so, how are you? Hint...look at Romans 10:9-13.

Read Romans 7:13. “For sin seizing the opportunity through the commandment deceived me and through it k**led me!” Sin doesn’t result in “a physical death” but “a spiritual death.” If you don’t reach out to Christ and express your sorrow for your sin and it just happens to be a mortal (deadly) sin, you will be condemned and you will not achieve salvation.

ALL sin leads to death.

For ALL (emphasis mine) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (NASB)

For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23a (NASB)

Will you please show me where in the Bible the concept of MORTAL SIN is? It's not in mine.

And I seem to remember something about "venial sin" from my Catholic upbringing. Also not in the Bible.

St Paul in Galatians: 5:19-21

I encourage you to read these passages and you may learn something. It might even lead you on a path to salvation.

Romans: 1:28-32
Corinthians: 6:9-10
Ephesians: 4:3-8

By the way...I'm saved. Read Romans 10:9-13 to see how God helped me accomplish it.

1 John 5:17 (NASB)
17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
This is easy to interpret. There are two “types” of sins: The sins of the unbeliever and the sins of the believer. Like I said earlier, the wages of sin is death. The sins of both believers and unbelievers lead to death. However, in the case of the true believer, all his sins, past, present, and, future, were forgiven at the cross. The believer still sins because his body is unredeemed. However, he is forgiven as he confesses his sin and his sin doesn’t lead to death.

Galatians 5:19-21 (NASB)
19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

I respectfully submit that this passage doesn’t differentiate between what you call mortal and venial sin.

Romans 1:28-32 (NASB)
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
30 slanderers, h**ers of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Again, I respectfully submit that this passage doesn’t differentiate between what you call mortal and venial sin.

Corinthians: 6:9-10
Again, you need to dust off your Bible. Is this 1 Corinthians or 2 Corinthians?

Ephesians 4:3-8 (NASB)
3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN."

This passage doesn’t even mention sin.

I’ll leave you with a passage to ponder:

Ephesians 2:1-10 (NASB)
1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in our t***sgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
