Whomever wrote this may have have had Andrew Cuomo's minimum wage legislation in mind that began to take effect at the end of 2018. Read the following article to learn how the marketplace has adapted to this legislation. https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/new-york-city%E2%80%99s-15-minimum-wage-now-officially-disaster-71761

This minimum wage of $15 per hour started in Seattle in 2015. The mayor of the city was Murray. This trick was a political move by that socialist congresswoman who was eventually elected. It was a lure to v**ers to v**e for her, and she won.

Effects were negative both for employers and employees.
Businesses could not survive on an ongoing operations. Costs exceeded revenue. In order to save their business, they reduced working hours of the employees, and laid off some.
Effects of raising minimum wage also raised their cost of living. Housing and apartments are no longer affordable for these people because the prices of rent sky rocketed. Price of homes have skyrocketed as well, and Seattle became one of the most expensive cities to live at present.

Thus socialist NYC, as well as other states follow this trend. The liberal mentality of those on politics are so dumb. Without analyzing negative effects that could happen when they raise the minimum wage.

The logical question then becomes, when will the population wise up to these obvious attempts to pander to their base? Or, will they remain ignorant of the facts and let the MSM continue to tell them everything is fine and dandy, and the economic tenants have been changed?

The place AOC worked in NY before she was elected to promote mayhem in the House apparently went out of business because of that same minimum wage increase.

It's been along time since any apartment in Seattle was affordable.

Those who've asked higher minimum wage could not afford living in Seattle. Apartments and housing went up that they have to commute far before getting into their destiny every morning. The price of greed. Seattle has been a democrat city since I could remember. Fortunately,I don't live among democrats and socialist. None of them could enter where I live.

AOC's New York City district is the same. Getting trashy over and over with no end in site.

They care not of negative effects for the common man. It's all about the v**es. It is also pushing out the entry level workers. These jobs were not meant to be a career, but a stepping stone.

That is right. The way to start. College students graduate after working at those place and they are proud of it.

Everyone has to start at the bottom and grow upward.
The rewards are great.

Last time I was in Seattle was the early-mid 1970s when I was stationed there.

From what I hear, it's on its way to catching up with big California cities re the cost of living.

Wherever goeth the tech industry, there goeth the high cost of living.

How the hell do they live! Your saying if your s watress or a burger filler you shoulder expect to make enough to have a roof over your head or food on your table!
If you can afford to eat out you have to pay enough for your meal that your server can make a living! It should be a felony for an employer to pay less than a living wage even if your burger cost 7 bucks!

They live like its been done for eons. Entry level burger flipper when in high school, work your way up as you gain experience and knowledge. Not be a burger flipper as a carrie for the rest of your life.

That's where hard work, dependability and loyalty come in .. low paying jobs are supposed to be entry level jobs.

Asset value breeds higher incomes.

I well remember being promoted from entry level jobs, lo those many decades ago, to higher paying responsible charge positions while the less "focused" and less hard working, dependable, loyal employees remained right where they were.

We once referred to the concept as "the American work ethic."

ENTRY LEVEL JOBS - starter positions - NOT a career! Doesn't even make sense in NYC, Seattle or other high-rent cities, should NEVER BE FORCED on everyone at the FEDERAL LEVEL!!

If you are still flipping burgers & trying to raise a family....and you are mentally and physically capable, there is something clearly wrong with your attitude or work ethic!

I worked for the Census Bureau when the wage was $13 an hour. The incompetence was amazing, because no one can live in NY C on $13 an hour
