I just finished a great book about a veteran from the Iraq war and his service dog. It is written by the veteran Luis Carlos Montalvan who returned from Iraq physically disabled with brain and spinal damage, plus horrible PTSD and the struggle he has had to repair some of the damage. The book is called UNTIL TUESDAY and it is about this wounded warrior and the service therapy dog, a golden retriever named Tuesday. Within the story is a good explanation of the training of this type of service dog, fitting dog to man emotionally and learning to adapt. His frankness about PTSD and what it did to him should help people to understand the impact of this damage. and his courage I found inspirational.
Since I wanted to purchase a couple of extra copies I went on Amazon and got used copies. Two of the copies are now in different VA hospitals and they have apparently been appreciated.
no propaganda please wrote:
