I took care of a vet who was in three theaters of war.
He was in a nursing home for a short time.
He made too much to be eligible for Medicaid and not enough to go to a veterans home.
I would see the Hispanics walking the hall and think, a vet with three wars under his belt can't stay here but the ones that sneaked in and got citizenship in 1986 are in here on a free ride.
What a sad state this country is in. We can't even take care of our own, but we take care of everybody else.
