Probably not; most of them are bombs.

I bet it was easier after WW2 bringing home souvenirs.

Most of the WW II vets that I knew had a German model 98 Mauser for a deer rifle.

One bought his '03 Springfield from the army when he was discharged.

The further back you go the easier it was. I wonder if most of George Washington's soldiers got to keep their muskets.

not for me
when I and other Squids were returning to the states to be discharged,we were temporarily bivouacked in A base in San Fransisco(I can't recall the base name)
but when arriving we were ordered to dump our sea bags and to dump any unauthorised equipment we might have on us
my sea bag contained all my clothes, a samurai sword,a jap pistol
and a jap f**g
I got to keep the f**g and my clothes

I bet the sword was cool. From shows I've seen their guns were very low quality. As the war went on and they ran out of resources because of American bombing and submarines, they were forced to substitute inferior materials wherever they could and their small arms suffered.

He should have just used the US Postal service to move heavy weapons around, like everybody else.

There are signs posted at every Post Office forbidding the carrying of firearms on Post Office property. Given the PO's past performance, I think the sign would be better posted above the employee entrance.

My dad got three samurai swords home. Two were personal and one was military issue. The personal were exquisite with gold inlays and fancy wrappings. I have one of the personal swords. He also brought a Jap 6.5 rifle home. My brother has that. Mike
