That is the question we have all been asking for quite some time now.

We are the fools, we let them pass a law that says they have to take a v**e to stop getting a pay raise! So
they never do the v**e and get a big raise every year. In 1965 Congress made $25,000 a year, today it's $178,000 plus perks like health care, not Obama care but very good health care.
Maybe someday Americans will wake up and get there act together.

I wonder how many of us ever write to our Reps in DC. I can tell you one thing, my Rep knows my name.

It is not at all surprising that you would post an easily disproven bald faced lie. In 1989 members of congress earned $96,000 a year this year they earn $174,000 accounting for inflation this affords about the same purchasing power and is no where near the over 231% increase claimed in your lie.

Your salary is predicated by Capitalism--a form of economics that Conservatives are loving to death. Congressional salaries aren't. It's not that hard to understand...

MrMister posted "In 1965 Congress made $25,000 a year".

Your comment about their pay in 1989, is just as irrelevant as you are kevy

In 65 you could buy a new car for $1500, he posted a blatant lie that congressional pay went up 231% in 30 years, which is pure BS as I proved, it is a matter of public record.

It seems to be beyond you.

Since you have been indoctrinated into socialism you are of twisted thinking.
Capitalism can make poor people into millionaires, but socialism always makes millionaires into poor people. just look at Venezuela or Cube.

Why, when a far better example is Scandinavia? It is like saying small government, no taxes or regulations and a pure market economy turns nations into Somalia.

You fail to understand that the countries Scandinavia are paying over 75% taxes. Most people there can not afford a new car much less a house. You need a lot of updating boy.

Exactly! They are taxed to death with income, VAT, and various forms of use taxes. The model of socialism. Take from the middle class and redistribute it~
