He is, but trolling is not restricted to any one party or ideological group. As I wrote to P-R, there are many from which to choose. Since I suspect Byronglimish was expecting only liberal trolls being brought up, I thought I'd spice it up with another breed.

You are wrong! What is a fair assessment if both sides of America aren't represented.?

In the future, one should know, I think for myself and then post it, no one needs to speculate for my opinion.

Thanks.

I did not post to disparage your impartiality, Byronglimish, but simply to offer my thoughts...right or wrong.

I also think for myself, while suspecting that most (all?) OPPers, however influenced, do the same.

Who on OPP is the most obvious troll.?

Interesting question. We have many people who fit the technical profile; "a troll is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotions." Just yesterday I caused a person to go into meltdown....so, technically that individual could label me as a troll, although I had no intent of hurting his/her feelings.

Penny, from my viewpoint, you are far from constituting a troll. Though often in disagreement with my own perspectives, you remain one of OPP's premier posters.

I am curious;
What is meant by the term "troll" here?
I think there are many descriptions here.

BTW; I just read this characterization by Penny;

Regarding trolls, here's a link to mull over: https://www.lifewire.com/types-of-internet-trolls-3485894

In a long-ago post, I described what constituted a troll to me: "The so-called 'trolls', IMHO, come from either side of the ideological spectrum. Bad manners and vulgar language, along with a need to agitate others or discourage honest discourse, are what constitute a troll to me."

Glad you posted that.
BadBob was the epitome of a Troll.

An Internet troll is a member of an online social community who deliberately tries to disrupt, attack, offend or generally cause trouble within the community by posting certain comments, photos, videos, GIFs or some other form of online content.

You can find trolls all over the Internet – on message boards, in your YouTube video comments, on Facebook, on dating sites, in blog comment sections, and everywhere else that has an open area where people can freely post to express their thoughts and opinions. Controlling them can be difficult when there are a lot of community members, but the most common ways to get rid of them include either banning/blocking individual user accounts (and sometimes IP addresses altogether), reporting them to authorities, or closing off comment sections entirely from a blog post, video page or topic thread.

Regardless of where you'll find Internet trolls lurking, they all tend to disrupt communities in very similar (and often predictable) ways. This isn't by any means a complete list of all the different types of trolls out there, but they're most certainly some of the most common types you'll often come across in active online communities.

Always glad to be of assistance, Birdman.

BTW, I should state that neither Fullspinzoo nor Liberty Tree meet the above brief, past definition of a troll by me. Without denying that I see them as trolls of different sorts, I can't recall either of them ever being vulgar or exhibiting terribly bad manners. I apologize to both Fullspinzoo and Liberty Tree.

And, as several have written: To some degree, most OPPers have crossed over into the realm of trolling.

Just saw a new ‘factnotfiction’ topic. Definite troll material. Lol

Though each side has its trolls Kevyn is hands down the worst because of content. He can’t even control himself in chit-chat.
