It will take you approximately 39 seconds to read this email. Please
read and pass it on.

Last month the newly convened, Democratic-controlled House of
Representatives introduced a bill to eliminate the e*******l college. It
seems that, since they couldn't win the last p**********l e******n under
the rules that have existed for almost 250 years, they want to change
the rules. Below is an excellent explanation of why this is a very bad idea
In their infinite wisdom, the United States' Founders created the
E*******l College to ensure the States were fairly represented Why
should one or two densely populated areas speak for the whole of the nation?

The following list of statistics has been making the rounds on the
Internet. It should finally put an end to the argument as to why the
E*******l College makes sense. Do share this. It needs to be widely
known and understood.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.
T***p w*n 3,084 of them.
Clinton won 57.
There are 62 counties in New York State.

T***p w*n 46 of them.

Clinton won 16
Clinton won the popular v**e by approximately 1.5 million v**es.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan,
Richmond & Queens) Clinton received well over 2 million more v**es than
Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties; T***p w*n Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton
winning the popular v**e of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3,797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles
of territory, it would be ludicrous to even suggest that the v**e of
those who inhabit a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of
a national e******n.

Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc.) DO NOT
and SHOULD NOT speak for the rest of our country!

And It's been verified and documented that those 319 square miles are
where the majority of our nation's problems foment.

Well worth the 39 seconds to read? Now please pass it on!

Let me first state that I am a supporter of the e*******l college system as set up by the U.S. Constitution.

Having said that, Kalawao County in Hawaii is the least populated county in the US. Despite being one of the most populated states, some counties in Texas are the country's least populated. There are 50 states in the United States, all of which are sub-divided into counties except for Louisiana (which has parishes) and Alaska (which has boroughs).

I can understand arguments that a county with 10 persons in it doesn't deserve the same representation that a county, parish or borough with perhaps ten million in it. That goes the same for whole states with scarce population density as opposed to those with extreme population density.

However, unless overturned by an amendment to the current U.S. Constitution, I favor sticking with the e*******l system as set forth by our Founding Fathers.

Two things...

1. Square miles don't v**e, people do. Sq. miles have no political say.
2. Any one who can count would know the numbers you are peddling are false.

That you think this is worth passing on is pathetic.

At least now we know you live in a 319 square mile area and h**e your fellow citizens. The e*******l college is the way it works whether you agree or not. Don't get mad because you can't win a fair fight, only a crooked one. Be you believe in a living breathing constitution too. Pitiful!

Contemptuous snobs like Kevyn, PeterS, moldyoldy, etc., l& all progressives, believe that their opinions are the final word in all matters. Kevyn demonstrates the liberal arrogance once more.

One man (oops one person - leave it to Kevyn to be politically correct) was a decision based mostly on the improperly ratified Fifteenth Amendment and which its drafters and ratifiers never meant. That has been verified in The Politically Incorrect Guide to The Constitution. Go ahead Kevyn or any other liberal, PROVE otherwise.

And, I am sure very many on OPP will be astonished to know that there is NO constitutional right to v**e. All The Constitution says is that if A has the right, so does B.

Further, there is NO constitutional requirement that a state even have a general e******n for president. A state could simply have its legislature meet and assign its e*****rs.

I recommend that every state follow the Maine example. Each congressional district would elect one E*****r and two v**es go to the general winner of the state. However, such an arrangement might give an even larger majority of the E*******l College to Republicans & Trump. It would be interesting to see how it would have worked out for 2000 & 2016.

Sorry Kevyn but destroying your arguments with facts is so easy.

I guess you would like the country to be like Comifornia where prices are high and homeless everywhere. I live here and if it gets much worse, I may need to join the homeless or get out of state to find a place I could afford.

Amen to that, Slat. Thank God it takes an amendment to the Constitution to implement the change.
