Slat and his wife,the Sgt Major were discussing old age.
The Sgt Major said"Oh Slat,I don't know what to do,I'm not ready for old age, and yet
when I look in the mirror,I don't see the person I used to be!
My hair is getting grey,and getting thinner.
I look stooped,my back is bent.
My waistline is growing,my neck is getting wattles.
Slat looked her up and down and said"Aw,sugar,there is certainly one thing about you that works just as well as it ever did"
"Oh,Slat Honey.you always know what to say to make me feel better!,Now tell me dear,"What is it about me that still works as well as it ever did".
Slatten just looked at the ground
"Come on Honey,tell me"said the Sgt Major
Finally Slat replied
"Well Sweetheart,I was goin to say that your eyesight seems to be workin just fine"
