Agreed, and I have said this every e******n. No matter what job you are running for, you should be required to give up any elective position you hold since you cannot do a good job of either-take you choice and be all in either to run for a different office, or to do the job the people elected you to do first. It would probably lower the number of people running, because it is financially and for name recognition an advantage to run, and if you can simply go back to your old job after the e******n, you have no real skin in the game.
