During WW2 they put on wage and price controls because wages would have skyrocketed while soldiers were fighting. If tax cuts and regulation abatements cause jobs to spike then employers are forced to raise wages. That wages are still lagging shows that real unemployment and underemployment was far far worse under Obama than the guvment numbers said.

Labor shortages will raise wages. How could they not ? I 'll tell you how ? If Democrats continue to import millions and millions and millions of i******s. My logic is nearly flawless. At least you and others have not pointed out the flaws as of yet.

I know that they pay competitively for their level of retail and that pre-"ACA" they had a full menu of employee health insurance plans to fit the needs of all their workers. I don't know how Obamacare affected that, though if it did as much damage to their health plans as it did to those of most of the middle class, the Democrats are to blame, not Wal Mart.

And of course there's one item you folks on the port side never bring up: asset value. It's not an employer's job to impress employees, the boss (not to be confused with AOC) pays all the overhead, takes all the risks and probably worked a lot harder for a lot longer just building the business. Even most large corporations were once small businesses consisting of the owner and a few others busting their asses to make the business work.

I've found, over my many decades in the marketplace, that the more you put into your work and the more you learn about the business, the more your responsibilities increase and the more money you earn. They call it "asset value."

The economy tanked under Bush, Obama revived our economy. We had college grads taking fast food jobs to get by. Things are better, but business is still about making excessive profits and buying back stock, not paying decent wages.
