Indiana Retirement Tax is described as relatively friendly.
Social Security retirement benefits are exempt from the state income tax in Indiana, and Indiana has low property taxes, so I haven't encountered this.
If I did, I would be beyond indignant, on a scale spiraling toward outraged.
Whenever the nation's legislatures attempt to "rob" those who are generally weaker, physically and politically, more powerless, and less able to afford legal representation than younger generations, for starters, they are violating our nation's constitutional freedom , guaranteeing the right to pursue happiness.
There is no happiness in seeing your own government going after your retirement funds.

Maryjane, make yourself feel even better. Send some of these companies a email explaining why YOU won't being making a purchase. Your one email won't make any difference but if you encourage your list to do the same thing and there are enough, maybe, just maybe, these companies will get the message. A journey starts with the first step. Mike
And it isn't just autos, but actually so many, many things we use and mostly we ordinary folks do not know where the vacuum cleaner, the toilet tissue, the towels, the carpet, etc, are actually produced. We want to buy American, but usually do not know if we are or not, because so much of everything we use on a daily basis is produced in a forrign nation. Are the people in these foreign nations buying their everyday products made in the USA?? Sonehow I doubt that.

But, obviously, most of the citizens in your state v**ed for those Democrats. This is what amazes me. I have no great faith in the Republicans either, but I absolutely refuse to v**e for a Democrat and don't understand how others can after their clear and public determination to replace Americans with pliable greedy s**mming foreigners who will always (like our black citizens) v**e for Democrats because they are the party that provides the constant flow of freebies to them.
Actually, the whole state is red with the exception of Chicago and Springfield. That's what is so frustrating.

This is only in a planning stage in CA at this time. Not Nationally, I think CA income tax rate is now as high as 13%. But that's never enough for the Democrats. They see the taxpayers in the state as a reserve of vast unlimited money for their use.
Nothing will ever be enough for these godless, immoral, politically, power hungry socialists/progressives.
They have declared themselves to be a "sanctuary state." They have promised all i******s protection from arrest or deportation. They have promised all i******s free medical care and a free education, at the expense of their hard working legal citizens, who are already struggling to live and support their families in a decent lifestyle, after paying the state's ever increasing taxes.
They believe they can buy the v**es of the i******s for decades to come, never considering where they will obtain future funding after driving existing citizens into neighboring states.

CA has the same problem. Eliminate L.A and San Fiasco and the state would be more independent and conservative than Democrat. But since we have 25% of the i******s and the Democrats pander for their v**es, I don't expect to see any change in the remainder of my lifetime.
At this rate, the only people left in CA with money will be Hollywood Liberals, Silicone Valley Liberals, and Democrat Politicians. Who will pay for all the pie-in-the-sky utopian boondoggles after everyone else has left?

Chicago may still have L.A. beat in per capita murders by gun.
