If I remember right, the indigienous people don't want the "American Indian" label, Especially since a lot of them didn't actually originate HERE On This continent but rather the steppes.. all points east.. and being nomadic, they may have even picked up some of their ethnicity from abroad..as far as most are concerned Mt. Rushmore is an insult. I do believe it was built on holy ground firstly, and secondly, what the white man did to them is enough to put them off their feed regarding w****s as a whole.. the only race.. that I could say was truly against w****s was the Indian.. Long before the civil war, and everytime a natural resource is found on a reservation white developers come in take that resource and push the indian that much further from civilization...which in this day and age makes it that much harder for them to drive to a job.. Federal gov'ts idea of taming the indian is to give them whiskey and keep them drunk and pliable all the time. more bars on the rez than anything else... Leonard Peltier, Still in jail because the word of an old drunk lady said he did it when it came to k*****g those federal officers!..
