Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) was asked about the situation at the border. His answer was succinct and to the point: "Let me be frank." Oh, boy, here it comes... "Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez… Someone needs to tell her that the voices in her head are not real". Ouch! And that was just for openers. He continued "She needs to go to the Holocaust Museum and see what a concentration camp is". Bravo! Because she obviously has no idea or she would not be making these 'N**i' comparisons. Here's the kicker: "The Department of Homeland Security is out of money and the congresswoman knows that. She says the conditions are inhumane. But yet, when we send a bill over to her to v**e to improve those conditions, she v**ed no. Her hypocrisy is breathtaking".

Concentration camps were not the exclusive product of the N**is. Japan, England, the US and Russia have all used them in the past. Here is the description in the Encyclopedia.

Concentration camp, internment centre for political prisoners and members of national or minority groups who are confined for reasons of state security, exploitation, or punishment, usually by executive decree or military order. Persons are placed in such camps often on the basis of identification with a particular ethnic or political group rather than as individuals and without benefit either of indictment or fair trial.

AOC is accurate in her description and doing far more than tweeting, she is calling for the impeachment of your I***t Pumpkinfuhrer.

Give it up. The only reason AOC and other democrats - including yourself - are using the term 'concentration camp' is to make it sound worse. To insist on using it is much like other left wing extremists misusing the terms r****m and bigot. It also marginalizes what happened in WWII. You demean what happened to the millions exterminated in them.

Well, Rose, the number of people who make that distinction is dwindling fast as those who remember such times die off and are replaced by a whole new crop of less than educated v**ers. It suits their purpose to use such language because those pejoratives make an impression on those who don't know any better. Much like the exploits of Vlad the Impaler have been memorialized in the history books, so too will the events of the early half of the 19th century be remembered. Vaguely and with negative undertones. The stuff of legend but without the reality that accompanied the horror that was the Third Reich. It doesn't help that our mainstream dictionaries make no distinction between an internment camp and a concentration camp. As far as I know, nobody was 'exterminated' at Fort Sill.

Just one of the perks of getting old, I guess.

It is now, and will be from now on so get used to hearing “Trumps concentration camps” and seeing images of small mistreated children in cages. Words are powerful when they are true as in this case or even when they are out and out lies, such as the rights use of the term death panels to deceive v**ers about the ACA.

Trumps concentration camps are caging refugees and asylum seekers who in accordance with U.S. law and treaty obligations are fleeing violence and persecution and requesting asylum. The majority are in no way shape or form i*****l a***ns. Learn the difference so you don’t appear so foolish.

Each refugee has a different experience and is entitled by law to have the opportunity to present their case in court for a judge to determine the legitimacy of their claim. This is the opening of the first page on the governments pamphlet given to asylum seekers. Read it and let it sink in.
