Japan Resumes Commercial Whaling After 30 Years
Japan is officially resuming commercial whaling after three decades. Five small whaling ships set sail Monday. Last year, the country announced that it was pulling out of the International Whaling Commission, or IWC. The group suspended commercial whaling back in 1986 after the practice drove many whale species to the brink of extinction. Under that suspension, countries could still k**l whales, but only if it served a scientific purpose. Japan argues that whaling is part of its culture dating back to the 12th century. The meat was once a main source of protein in the country, though reports from 2015 show fewer people were eating it.

Sad, I hope that culture that once where cannibals don't resume their cultures. Calling it scientific purpose
is a joke. These animals are intelligent and make the Japs look stupid.

They never stopped. They have been doing it in the name of "research".

Japanese will eat anything, so I imagine they can find a replacement for whale meat. BTW, what HAVE they been eating during that 30 year hiatus?
