Evidently they do not teach you much about journalism and the free press in the Russian school system so here is a basic lesson to get you up to speed. Legitimate newspapers have what is known as an op ed page this is a description. An op-ed, short for "opposite the editorial page", is a written prose piece typically published by a newspaper or magazine which expresses the opinion of an author usually not affiliated with the publication's editorial board. Op-eds are different from both editorials (opinion pieces submitted by editorial board members) and letters to the editor (opinion pieces submitted by readers). The piece that has your panties in a bunch is clearly noted as an op ed piece.
