She is correct, Pete. The separation of children, is an a*********n to all principled and conscientious Americans.
However, we must change and move society from within. The question of i*****l i*********n must be solved not by progressives, or liberals. It cannot be solved by conservatives or libertarians. It can only be solved by Society as a whole. Unlike the homosexual marriage argument, society must take a leading role in this crisis.
I have said to you many times it is Society that drives Government not the other way around.
I*****l i*******ts have a double jeopardy problem in law. Since they are not citizens they do not have any rights guaranteed by the Constitution. The Constitution only applies to the American Citizen.
The American Citizen has a restriction on their rights in the beginning of Adulthood. This restriction is that of v****g. The American Citizen has the right to v**e at the age of 18, at the same time the citizen has a right to die for this country. Yet those between the ages of 18 and 21 do not have the right to operate a commercial vehicle or even drink alcohol.
Since citizenship is taught to the natural born citizen during junior high/ High School the same should be applied to the noncitizen.
The solution to i*****l i*********n is to stop the human trafficking of individuals coming to this country. The wall is an ends to a means, but is not a end-all-be-all solution.
I would write the bill for Congress, if I do it would read like this:
"In the event, that a person wants to join our country, then certain requirements must be set forth:
1. The foreign national must apply for citizenship. At this time an investigation to vet the foreigner shall begin. A temporary visa consisting of no more than 180 days be granted to the foreigner. During that time the foreigner shall take classes including a civics class and an American History class.
2. Upon successful completion of the class, the foreigner shall present the diploma to Immigration. And a review of the foreigner's behavior in the United States shall be examined. The foreigners civic actions while acting as if he has already become a citizen shall be looked at. If for the six months of the Visa, the foreigner did not commit any criminal activity, meaning felonies, shall be granted a hearing.
3. Upon going to the hearing, the judge shall administer the oath of citizenship, and at that point naturalization shall be completed. The foreigner is now a citizen. "
This solves the problem of how an immigrant can become a citizen.
Now other vetting should also accompany this procedure.
First the immigrant should be medically sound. This means that the immigrant not introduce into this country any disease that can cause a public epidemic. In such cases, the immigrant should be treated and v*****es should be given to the immigrant. Like we do for American Children when they first start school so should we do for the immigrant.
Second a full background investigation through the State Department should be accomplished. We finger print our American Children while they are in school, so should the immigrant be finger printed or even given a DNA test.
And that should be all. This is a simple bill that should pass through congress and end the immigration battle. The next issue should be that of i*****l i*********n.
If a foreigner is guilty of breaking our i*********n l*ws, then that person should be deported. They should be deported for reasons greater than a misdemeanor. However, misdemeanors should be harshly looked at. If I want to be a citizen of a country, I should not commit a misdemeanor or felony in that country I want to belong to.
The immigration bill that I wrote above, is simple. It costs the immigrant no money. It would cost the taxpayer even less. Since the community in which the immigrant takes his classes, have already paid for the schooling within the community, one or two more students would not "break the bank" but should more immigrants join the one or two then a small fee equal to the taxes paid should be implemented. But an accountant and a lawyer can decide on how much, however it should not exceed the taxes applied to minimum wage people and can be determined by the income of the immigrant.
Finally, once the immigrant becomes a citizen, then all rights be granted to the citizen.
I once heard, that the Democrats support a******ns by American citizens and also support i*****l i*********n. This argument has been made many times. What I don't understand is simply, why would you want to k**l the American Citizen, the baby, and give that citizenship to the foreigner?
That is a sad state of affairs if that is true.....
