Memo to Trump: Trade Bolton for Tulsi

Far fetched, perhaps. But as Patrick J. Buchanan's article above states, "For the foreign policy Tulsi Gabbard is calling for is not far off from the foreign policy Donald Trump promised in 2016 but has since failed to deliver."

Not giving Trump (or any politician) here a pass, but many find that being President is not the same as running for President. Once President you see much more intelligence than you did as a candidate. I liken it to inheriting a business you've seen all your life but never run. I'm more hawkish than dovish, but I am anti-worlds policeman. Can't understand why we are still in Afghanistan. Armed Forces exist to protect America's interests. We should not sacrifice one life for the benefit of some other entity where the outcome is not in the U.S.'s best interests. I get you like Tulsi. I did too months ago, but she's decided to go left, way left. The way she talks now compared to a year ago is completely different. Oh well, another politician. At least she's easy on the eyes.

I agree that a number of her positions are too far left for my liking, including immigration, c*****e c****e, and Medicare for all. It is impossible to find any one politician that checks all the right boxes, so you need to pick and choose the issues that are most important to you.

For me, ending the middle east wars, fighting the phony war on "terrorism", regime change for countless numbers of countries, supporting, training and arming terrorist groups, being the worlds largest supplier of weapons and war materials, and restoring the civil liberty protections specified in the "Bill of Rights" are my hot button issues. I also like her positions on campaign finance reform, GMO labeling, criminal justice reform, infrastructure, etc.

If Trump only followed thru with his campaign pledges of ending our wars overseas, and didn't surround himself with war hawks like Pompeo, Bolton, Abrams, and others, he could be a good president. He still may be, but it appears that some military action against Iran is now in the cards. If that happens, he will lose his base, and some psychopath like Kamala Harris will be our next president. God help us.

I sure hope you're wrong on this. If Iran attacks U.S. personnel we will have to fight back, but I have many relation in the armed forces. Last thing I want to see is another useless war. I don't believe Trump is a hawk, but there are many around him that are; and of course it's always follow the money.
