So very obvious to any American.

How much credence do you give E Jean Carroll's allegations against Donald Trump based on a mid-nineties encounter with him at a New York department store?

At some point we have to acknowledge that over 20 women have courageously come forward with accounts of Donald Trump sexually assaulting them. We also have to acknowledge that Trump revealed his character on video tape and other media venues many times. We also know that he has paid hush money to women on more than one occasion.

So what exactly is in dispute here?

Here's what we do know. Before last week I had never heard of E. Jean Carroll but she is apparently a highly regarded advice columnist. Even if she is trying to jack up sales of a book she comes across as highly credible.

The President's response was "she's not my type". That should speak volumes to us. Does he mean it would be OK to rape her if she was his type? Does he mean that she is not attractive enough for him to assault? The American people have elected a leader who never misses an opportunity to demean women. The American people selected a pig to occupy the Oval Office. If Trump even comes close to being reelected it will say more about us than it will about him and none of it is good.

Being a highly regarded advice columnist doesn't mean she is credible. Remember Alex Haley? He wrote Roots and was highly regarded. Years later he was found to be a fraud.

There are scores of examples of highly educated and/or successful people that are liars and all around bad people.

What should speak volumes to us is the eager readiness that people have to believe anything. That is the stuff that sheep are made of.

Everything you say is correct..

That does not mean the end of the story..

Long delays in speaking of sexual assault are very common, ask any cop..

Why, embarrassment, self guilt, need for secrecy,

But the largest reason by far is lack of results.. the women, if it reaches trial has to relive the experience in front of the public, the man usually only goes on with his life with no downside..

And yes, I know of exceptions. right in this town ..

Never the less, the usual is what is expected.. the more powerful (rich) the man is, the less action he receives..

Short part of another comment on women and sex predators..

In 2016 about a dozen women came out well before the e******n declaring that Trump sexually assaulted them. Trump claimed they were all liars and he was going to sue all of them. Not a single one has been sued. Trump was later caught on videotape bragging about his history of sexually assaulting women. Still, Trump was elected President while the other guy in the video lost his television job just for giggling.

Why don't more women come forward? See what happened to Anita Hill and Christine Blasey Ford. Both were judged by tribunals of old men. Both were dismissed as crazy or liars. Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh are on the Supreme Court.

Now columnist E. Jean Carroll has come out with her account of being sexually assaulted by Trump back in the 90s. Just another piece of the pattern of a man with no impulse control who assaults women, c***ts business associates and lies as if it's a bodily function.

Women are not stupid. They understand the consequences of testifying against powerful men. They understand that they will be disbelieved and demonized while the perpetrator skates away without consequences. Yet we are still questioning why they don't come forward.

So she is " apparently a highly regarded advice columnist. "

Which to me means she is not a powerless female victim. Why did she not report this rape when it occurred ? Why did she not report this rape until now ?

This is an unproven allegation. In America we have this principal of the accused being presumed innocent until proven guilty. Maybe you have heard of it ? You obviously have decided that President Trump is guilty. The rest of us have not. To make a moral condemnation of those who may v**e for President Trump because of an unproven allegation says volumes and " none of it is good. "

Come on permie, give it a rest.
An uncorroborated story about an alleged sexual attack which first comes to light 30 years after the fact isn't worthy of belief. Even if the accused is DJT.
Why weren't Bill Clinton's rape accusers who came forward right after the fact given similar credibility? They were instead maligned, attacked, ridiculed and dismissed as being unworthy of belief.
I know you stay up awake at night, conjuring up new ways to attack your President.
But give it a rest.

What I question is if she had reasons not to come forward then, what changed to have her come forward now? Could it be big money from some person or group to MAKE UP a story so as to black ball the accused? 20 or 25 years later it is hard to remember where you were or what you were doing for a defense. The accusation is read or heard by many and the defense heard by few. But the damage to one's reputation is a given, therefore, mission accomplished. Personally I pay no attention to rumors. I adhere to the phase "Innocent until proven guilty".

If there was credible evidence for all of this, Trump would have been in jail instead of in the White House. This is similar to the Kavanaugh circus. Some person who logically would have come forward years ago decides to pick an opportune time to appear. Unlike the Cosby affairs where no bias was evident, these accusations are suspicious.

It would seem to me that the time for her to have come out with this would have been in 2015/16 along with the other accusers. The fact that she didn't lends credence to the fact that this is simply an attempt to try to sling mud and reduce Trumps chances for re-e******n. Being aware of the Democrats desperation and this timing gives it the stink of week old fish.

I very much wish she had come forward in 2015.. but she did not..

reading the past half dozen repetative posts, it seem noone has every had a conversatiion with a real rape victem.. I have.

More than one...

How much they wish to keep it a secret amazed me.. reporting, talking about it in public, going to trial, etc was the very last thing any of them wanted.

their family finding out? Oh never ever...

they feel that they are at fault for any number of things. They knowing walked in a dark alley, they did not keep the lock secure, they stayed home alone, they let the man in the door.

I do not understand why they feel such guilt but it is near universal for every case.

Also, I had a cop friend, addressing an assault case which was probable also rape, that after they talked to the woman, "it would all blow over" and nothing would come of it..

all this crap really is true, women have to deal with it and live with it.. they know how it works and the more money in the wallet, the less the law is going to push to charge him with anything..

But of course you are correct.. coming forward after years will always make it look as if it is f**e..

Allegations of "sexual abuse"?

Jessica Leeds - 1970, Trump groped her while seated next to her on a flight. No cigar.

Ivana Trump - 1990 divorce deposition - "As a woman, I felt violated, as the love and tenderness, which he normally exhibited towards me, was absent. I referred to this as a 'rape,' but I do not want my words to be interpreted in a literal or criminal sense." No cigar.

Kristin Anderson - at a New York City nightclub in the early 1990s. Trump reached under her skirt and touched her vagina through her underwear. (how do you "touch" a vagina?) No cigar.

Jill Harth - at the Mar-a-Lago resort in the early 1990s. Trump pushed her against a wall, put his hand up her skirt, and tried to kiss her at a dinner. No cigar.

Lisa Boyne - a 1996 dinner with Trump and modeling agent John Casablancas during which several other women in attendance were forced to walk across a table in order to leave. Trump and Casablancas looked up their skirts and commented on their underwear. No cigar.

Mariah Billado and Victoria Hughes - Two Miss Teen USA contestants claimed Trump walked in on them while they were changing in their dressing rooms. No cigar.

Temple Taggart - Trump "kissed me directly on the lips" when she met him at the Miss USA pageant in 1997. No cigar.

Cathy Heller - was attending a Mother's Day brunch with her husband, children, and in-laws at Mar-a-Lago in the 1990s when Trump approached her table, introduced himself to her, and forcibly kissed her. No cigar.

Karena Virginia - Trump groped her as she waited for her car outside the US Open in New York in 1998. No cigar.

Tasha Dixon and Bridget Sullivan - Two Miss USA contestants said Trump walked into their dressing rooms, where female participants were changing. No cigar.

Melinda "Mindy" McGillivray - Trump grabbed her buttocks while they were backstage during a Ray Charles concert at Mar-a-Lago in 2003. No cigar.

Natasha Stoynoff - 2005, Mar-a-Lago. Trump pushed her against the wall and forced his tongue down her throat. No cigar.

Jennifer Murphy and Juliet Huddy - Trump Tower, 2005. Trump kissed them without their consent, but they weren't offended by it at the time. No cigar.

Rachel Crooks - Trump Tower receptionist, 2005, Trump kissed her on the mouth without her consent. No cigar.

Samantha Holvey - 2006 Miss USA contestant. Trump personally inspected each of the pageant contestants individually. ""He would step in front of each girl and look her over from head to toe." No cigar.

Ninni Laaksonen - 2006. A model and former Miss Finland. Trump groped her backstage at the "Late Show with David Letterman". No cigar.

Jessica Drake - Lake Tahoe, 2006. Accused Trump of grabbing and kissing her without permission and offering her money to accept a private invitation to his penthouse hotel room. No cigar.

Summer Zervos - a former contestant on NBC's "The Apprentice," Trump grabbed her shoulder and began kissing her "very aggressively" and placed his hand on her breast. No cigar.

Cassandra Searles - Miss Washington at the 2013 Miss USA pageant, Ditto Holvey. No cigar.

Alva Johnson - a former Trump campaign staffer. Trump kissed her without her consent at a Tampa, Florida rally on August 24, 2016. No cigar.

E. Jean Carroll - accuses Trump of raping her 25 years ago. Sound familiar? No cigar.

Note that every one of these alleged incidents occurred BEFORE Trump became president. OTH, how many presidents have behaved like this WHILE in office? How many men in this world have never behaved like this? Or, how many have?

What comes after these allegations are investigated and found wanting?

Monica Lewinsky - Opps! CIGAR

Every time the Democraps run out of facts, they dredge up fairy tales of sexual assault, which invariably happened decades ago and insist that the accusers, most of whom are veracity challenged, should be believed no matter what. Witness Christine Ford. You left wing looney tunes insisted she was telling the t***h after her own witnesses called bulls**t on her testimony.
