This morning I saw a report that the President called off a raid that was nearly airborne because he got word from a source he trusts that 1.) the drone was shot down without the approval of Iranian commanders. 2.) There was a probability of 150 non-combatants would be k**led as a result of the raid.
Since no US personnel were k**led, I believe the President did the prudent thing. Now if the Iranians continue pawing the dirt and threatening US forces, the gloves come off. But for now, since the Iranians know just how close they came to starting something they have no way of finishing, let's see if we can defuse this. I trust the CIC!
