No. This is MORE than disingenuous. Yes there are pregnancy changes. They are not caused by the baby but by the fact a woman in pregnant. For example, the two leading causes of pregnancy deaths (both mother and child die), is stroke and heart disease. There is an increased blood flow to the uterus. The greater need leads to the heart pumping harder and higher blood pressure and heart attacks. These conditions are usually present before pregnancy, but are worsened because of the increased blood need. These can happen early in the pregnancy. Another problem is preeclampsia and eclampsia. Preeclampsia is a serious blood pressure condition that can happen after the 20th week of pregnancy or after giving birth (called postpartum preeclampsia). It’s when a woman has high blood pressure and signs that some of her organs, like her kidneys and liver, may not be working normally. Eclampsia is a rare and life-threatening condition. It’s when a woman with preeclampsia has seizures or goes into a coma. These commonly happen at or after the 20th week. This will k**l the baby as well as the mother. The next most common cause is an emergency in delivery. This can be from excessive bleeding or amniotic fluid embolism. These are not things which the baby has caused other than by being born. And the 3rd is bleeding up to 2 weeks afterward without medical intervention or infection. And one that is still present today, but was much more common in the past is infection. It use to be known as childbed fever. There is little reason for a woman to die of an infection caught during delivery today. In the past, the practice of not washing hands, using contaminated tools, and no antibiotics caused a high risk of infections. In modern western culture infection is not a big problem, but it is higher in deliveries by C section than by vaginal delivery. Probably because those having C sections are already at higher risks as they aren't given just because a mother would prefer it. Again, the baby did not cause it.

Now to include the risks from having an a******n. The maternal mortality rate for vaginal deliveries would be 1.1/100,000 live births, less than the death-to-case rate of 1.9/100,000 in legal a******ns. So carrying a baby to term and having a vaginal delivery is safer for the mother than having an a******n.

So to conclude. No, an unborn baby does NOT k**l his mother. But having a baby does increase certain risks. Having an a******n comes with a higher risk of death to the mother. These risks are highest when the mother has some pre-existing condition which the pregnancy exacerbates.
