Luke chapter 21
Foreword
This chapter compares with the six seals in Revelation, the 13th chapter of Mark, and the 24th chapter of Matthew.
Verse 1 - 4
The rich men made large donations as a percentage, the widow’s 2 mites counted more. God knows the most intimate details of all our lives.Christ and the widow had never met.
Verse 5 and 6
We think this happened in 70 A.D. When Rome attacked Jerusalem. But the Western wall still stands. If you look at it, you can clearly see one stone on top of another.I don’t believe this has happened yet.
Verse 7 and 8
Who is speaking? Jesus. Is He the Christ? Of course. So what is He saying? They will profess that Jesus is lord, but ignore every sermon He preached, parable He taught, and miracle He performed. The first trumpet is the deception of having men lead you to Christ, who never followed Christ themselves.
Verse 9 and 10
War is not a sign of the end. Part of Daniel 8:25 says, “By peace he shall destroy many”.
Verse 11
Read Amos 8:11
Verse 12 - 15
When delivered up, do not plan what you are going to say. Just say the first thing that comes to mind.
Verse 16 - 19
Satan has deceived the whole world. You shouldn’t expect deceived minds to agree. The hardest one to teach is one who thinks they know already
Verse 20 - 22
Christians should lead humble lives until God lifts us up.
Verse 23 and 24
Whenever the word woe appears in scripture, there is a bad future for whoever the woe applies to, but if it don’t apply, you can let it fly. This woe is for those that believe in the Jesus everyone talks about, but not found in scripture.
Verse 25 and 26
Between man not understanding God or His word and natural disasters increasing, things will get worse before they get better.
Verse 27 and 28
We are not in control. We all have this illusion of control. None of us understand the bible well enough to point fingers.
Verse 29 - 33
When trees bud, you know summer’s coming. I’ve seen trees bud while covered in ice. Summer comes every year. Christ will return soon, we should do as He says.
Verse 34 - 36
Don’t ever sin, thinking you can repent later. Christ may not come for everybody, just you.
Verse 37 and 38
The meaning of the words spoken, are more important than how He said them.
