With an opportunity afforded to few to deliver words of wisdom and encouragement to young patriots... Obama addresses the graduating class at West Point and demeans them and their purpose by focusing squarely on....himself.

An entire commencement address to young patriots in uniform and only passing reference to them at their proudest moment; about their sacrifice, their work, their p***e...going out of his way to make it clear to them that they are redundant to his 21st century foreign policy vision.

He made it abundantly clear that he has no understanding of the single purpose these young people have spent years leaning to get to this point; that we are here to preserve peace, not destroy it. Above all else we go where the Commander in Chief sends us, without question. Deciding right and wrong is not our job. We have been taught war is not the first alternative...we already know that...

But most disappointing, most pathetic, he didn't come here to talk to us, he came here to talk to his constituents; to politic to the world; to make excuses and new promises to cover his failings as Commander in Chief...as President. We're just props on the stage...

Commander in Chief comes with the office...the political coward is supplied by the v**ers.

=======================================

Obama made his contempt for the military and veterans perfectly clear several years ago when he said that they should buy insurance to cover the cost of treating their battle wounds and wh**ever health care they need. He said, after all, they are volunteers and should not expect the government to subsidize their medical costs.

But like most despicable behaviour and speechifying from him, it was all ignored by the news media and forgotten by most people.

Just more driveling to calm the sheep from stampedeing as he ramps up for a new war in a different region.

Obama: American Exceptionalism Comes From Interventionism

Speaking today at the West Point commencement speech, President Obama put forward his foreign policy vision, which he described as “might doing right,” declaring that “I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being.”

Obama went on to insist that America is exception because of its “true leadership” position, and its constant intervention across the world to “affirm” international norms.

He went on to claim that the only people who would dare to question America’s unrivaled might on the world stage are engaging in “partisan politics,” and that large-scale 9/11-style attacks are less likely now because of America’s global power.

The only specific policy he seemed to touch on at any great length was his desire to close Guantanamo Bay, saying America’s “legal traditions don’t permit the indefinite detention of people beyond our borders.” Increasingly, his administration has pushed to bring the detainees to some sort of site inside the US, so they could carry out the open-ended detention without trial within the borders.

Hes a war freak.

Someone Is Lying: Obama Says Not Arming Syrian Rebels, Syrian Rebels Say He Is

As we noted yesterday, President Obama is saying he is contemplating arming and training Syrian rebels (just the 'moderates' which will be identified by their smiles). However, as the following PBS Frontline documentary exposes, the Syrian rebels themselves say they are already armed and trained by US in the use of sophisticated weapons and fighting techniques, including, one rebel said, "how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush." The interviews are the latest evidence that after more than three years of warfare, the United States has stepped up the provision of lethal aid to the rebels, as PBS notes "it appears the Obama administration is allowing select groups of rebels to receive US-made anti-tank missiles." So who is lying? Obama (again) or the Syrian rebels (who show US-made supplies in the following clips).

The whole interview is noteworthy and damning for the administration but the good stuff starts around 8:00

As PBS explains,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=022q7iN8aXU&feature=player_embedded

The documentary, produced by FRONTLINE for airing on PBS stations, features journalist Muhammad Ali, who has been following the Syrian civil war for the program. It shows Ali meeting up with a seemingly moderate faction of the rebels, though the faction itself is not identified — apparently for fear of angering its American contacts.

Ali is shown riding with a rebel supply officer as he traveled to the Turkish border to reportedly pick up American-supplied Russian weapons and ammunition, but he is not allowed to accompany the fighters to the actual meeting.

...

The commander of the unit also told Ali that their American contacts had asked him to bring 80 to 90 members of his unit to Ankara for training.

...

One of the fighters said they received three weeks of training in how to conduct ambushes, conduct raids and use their weapons. They also said they received new uniforms and boots.

“They trained us to ambush regime or enemy vehicles and cut off the road,” said the fighter, who is identified only as “Hussein.” “They also trained us on how to attack a vehicle, raid it, retrieve information or weapons and munitions, and how to finish off soldiers still alive after an ambush.”

...

The United States has refused to confirm its growing efforts to help the fighters. Neither the Pentagon nor the CIA would comment on Frontline’s findings.

For the United States, publicly embracing such an effort presents many challenges, chief among them widespread opposition among U.S. v**ers for more direct U.S. involvement in the Syrian conflict.

...

Perhaps because of those reasons, Congress has never publicly signed off on funding for a training and arming effort, and officially, the United States only provides non-lethal aid, like food rations, clothing and first aid supplies.

Of course, we are sure anyone from the government looking into this will be shocked and not have a clue how it could have happened... who is responsible for the decision... and who is funding it... once again we ask... who is lying?

Even funnier some news agencies are so desperate they are claiming Fox deleted the applause during his speech.

I watched it and there was ionly about 6 people who clapped from the view point up front that I saw.

I started the thread because I was so disgusted with the massive abuse of power subjecting our good people to this demeaning, panty waste cowardice. He could have refused to do the speech but chose to proceed. At any rate when you dig down into it as you have done it becomes too bizarre to even rationalize.

Your example of his comment that terrorists attacks in the United States are now less likely because of Americas perceived power on the world stage (inference, as a result of his Godliness) brought me out of my chair and can only stem from one of two places; he is lying, something we have come to expect or...being in a delusional state he believes bin Ladin is dead and General Motors is alive...and the world loves us.

Choose one...there are no alternatives.

We see what we want to see and disregard the rest. We hear what we want to hear and disregard the rest. We think what we want to think and we disregard the rest. As long as that is true, we will believe what we want to believe and disregard the rest.

How much applause was there? How much did you want to hear? see? believe? The answer is, it depends on how you feel about the President.

I think there is no question how these cadets feel about the president. The expressions on their faces spoke volumes; bewilderment being chapter one...

When military people are addressed by the Commander in Chief they demonstrate enthusiasm. If you wish to suggest that the silence was respectful, disciplined restraint you did not see the same commencement I saw.
