It's Not A Joke Folks: The Radical Left Is Trying To Criminalize Christianity!
Stephen Warren, a radical activist with ACT UP issue the clarion call that is contained in H.R 5 some years back:
"You will be expected to offer ceremonies that bless our sexual arrangements... we will in all likelihood, want to expunge a number of passages from your Scriptures and rewrite others... If all these things do not come to pass quickly, we will subject Orthodox Jews and Christians to the most sustained hatred and vilification in recent memory."
In plain language, H.R. 5 actually REDEFINES Section 201 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include ANY "establishment that provides exhibition, entertainment, recreation, exercise, amusement, public gathering, or public display" as covered under the law.
And moreover, H.R. 5 also ERADICATES The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA). It specifically states: "The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 (42 U.S.C. 2000bb et seq.) shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to a claim under, a covered title, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of a covered title."
That means that if H.R. 5 passes the Senate, a radical activist can literally walk up to your pastor and demand that your place of worship be used accommodate a so-called gay wedding or an event or ceremony that directly violates scripture, and if your church refuses the accommodation, it will be sued until it either submits or is forced into bankruptcy.
We're no longer just talking about bakers or florists in remote cities being driven out of business for refusing to cater "weddings" ... H.R. 5 is a huge game changer! It makes those horrendous anti-1st Amendment local ordinances the supreme law of the land!
And the practice of Christianity, unless it conforms to government-imposed mandates, will become ILLEGAL. That's no exaggeration!
