PROPERLY PRESCRIBED OPIATES (and antibiotics) are nearly miraculous in their benefits. When unregulated or improperly used, things go south quickly.
Opiates have a built in flaw. Tolerance.

Which is exactly why their use needs to be prescribed and monitored by a physician. I've had heart surgery (and 34 more surgeries) in the last year and 1/2. Those opiate meds were a blessing to stave off severe pain, but were quickly discontinued after the 'need' was passed. There are millions like me, both you9ng and old.

The problem then is chronic and
progressive pain. Tolerance is a mathematical equation, nothing more.
I just went through this with my Ma who lost both feet this year to peripheral artery disease.
She had dry gangrene...not even f******l helped. Not that and oxycodone too. Methadone helped a little and that's what they have her on now that she's recovering.
There are better solutions than opiates, although opiates valuable and have their place.

Ya Ma had 26 stents in just one leg, 5 stents and an arterial bypass in the other...and she's a serious pain pill hardass.
